Let's remember that, during Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos campaign, the Naga under Illidan's command allied with the Night Elves to rescue Tyrande from the Scourge. If the devs were to use some kind of excuse like that to justify the Naga and the Night Elves to coexist in the same faction due to a temporary truce, then I tink it could be considered Lore Friendly.

Some notes: 1. I already like the look of Gilneas here, more than the TurtleWoW version. 2. Do not make the same mistake TurtleWoW made with Alah'Thalas. Do not name NPC's "Goldshire Villager". Give them an actual name. In WoW, every NPC who isn't cannon fodder (guards for example) has a name. This helps players navigate better and makes the _world_ of warcraft more immersive and believable. Mousing over 6 different NPCs all named "goldshire villager" when looking for a specific NPC can be both annoying, and tiresome. 3. Any racial that can move a character _will_ be exploited, and this should be considered at all times. A knockback racial for the naga for example, can be used to knock another player to unintended areas or out of bounds places.

Tiny thing, Arathi are what you're thinking with the Alterac bit, Alterac Kingdom in World of Warcraft now are like... the Syndicate I think? Orange bandannas and all that, Alterac in Warcraft 2 were sorta turncoats, I think they were allies to the Horde at that point.

The king of the alterac kingdom did strike up a bargain with Warchief Doomhammer during the second war. They allowed the horde to pass through their lands unimpeded if the horde leaves the Alterac alone in return. That allowed the horde to assault Capital City (the capital of Lordaeron) before Lordaeron could set up proper defenses. And when the horde was beaten in the second war the king of alterac was urged to step down into lower nobility so that the alliance of Lordaeron could imprison him. Up to this day Alterac hasnt been restored, they now act as the Syndicate and later on they joined up with the rogue order in Legion. Oh yeah and funny tidbit: The horde only lost the second war because Gul'dan pulled his clans away from their assault on Quel'thalas to raise the Broken Shore. There he ventured into the tomb of sargeras to claim that places power and eventually got killed. Warchief Doomhammer wouldnt let that betrayal go once he heard about it, even at the cost of winning the war, so he turned his armies away to hunt down Gul'dan who was by that point already dead. So in a way the alliance had an unintended Ally with Gul'dan

A few corrections: most of the new races are returning. In this case, the Forest Trolls, goblins, and ogres are REjoining since they were a part of Doomhmmer's Horde. The alteraci were A tribe within the ARATHI empire, and the Highr elves/Wildhammer dwarves were members of the alliance of Lordaeron

Yeah I totally agree. If the goal here was to experiment with fanfiction style stuff in order to shoehorn as many races into the game as possible, I'd say they succeeded. But so many awful lore decisions here. But like I said in my own comment, I do commend them for the level of effort they're putting into this.

Most of these make sense to me lore wise , Orges , Goblins , Forest Trolls been part of the Horde before , High Elves been around in Alliance Warcraft 1,2,3 . The Furbolgs and Broken make sense , Murloc/Skeletons/Fel Orcs are the only fan service here , not sure how they fit in any faction, but it sounds fun to play as none the less . I'm hype for this 1 , would had liked the 2004 High Elves model as a playable subrace tho

We tried to make gnolls work but ran into a bunch of problems, mainly on: Lore on choosing a faction (which would've been Horde most likely considering Packleader Garfang's history with the humans of Stormwind) their animations, and how armor would work on them! We just unfortuantely could not make them work :( ~Cevaro

@@meoravec Snarlmane was possessed by one of Silvanas' banshees in "the Dark Lady" undead campaign mission of the The Frozen Throne expansion of Warcraft 3 so she could take control of his Gnolls, so having the remnants of his pack (Blizz added an undead Snarlmane NPC in WoW) working under Sylvanas would be plausible. Gnolls also tend to just follow whomever is the strongest amongst themselves, and infight a bunch to see who that is, so having banshees Possess Garfang and his Lieutenants could also be a way to make them serve the Horde while also stabilizing their leadership as all the strongest Gnolls are possessed and united instead of fighting each-other. Edit: Orges, Bandits and Murlocs were also possessed.

@@Edin116 We were debating that, and me and the main quest writer were discussing that! Snarlmane ends up being in Fenris Keep as a rare, Mug'Thol is the ogre who is in Alterac who gets the Crown that frees him from Sylvanas's banshee possession, and the murlocs aren't really touched upon (minus Gunther taking command of them). As for Blackthorn and his bandits...... well, let's just say something is being planned for them! ;)
