Thank you, I'm a holy/disc main but I've been wanting to try DPSing lately and figure itll be easier to try shadow rather than roll a whole new character and these guides are super helpful. Hey can i ask you why you put halo in the m+ build over divine star, that you can spam between packs much better for insanity and mobility? Also is tab spamming devouring plague when you can not a huge prio with a 150% dmg increase to apparition on devouring plague targets? Ty!

The choice is purely preference, although most people like the simplicity of Halo. Halo also is usable for damage in mass AoE pulls, while Divine Star is not. But yeah the pre-pull insanity is really nice with Divine Star. Tab-target/spreading devouring plague is absolutely worth for overall damage, but only with Distorted Reality. But a lot of people like playing Mind's Eye and just funneling for increased priority target damage.

Currently on Icy-Veins, your "Single Target + Shadow Crash" talent setup has you pathing through deathspeaker for 2 points of mastermind, but I didn't see it explained on IV or in this guide. I know you mentioned maddening touch, dark evangelism, phantasmal pathogen, voidtouched, and mental decay are really important damage nodes we're forced to choose only a few of, why did you go the mastermind route instead of taking more of these important nodes?

While those middle nodes are important, generally speaking the bottom ones are more important damage nodes. I didnt mention that specifically because there isnt as much choice in those nodes and the points in that section are generally pretty static. That build in particular uses Dark Ascension which has more synergies with Shadow Word: Death and bigger Mind Blasts which is why it likes mastermind.

You keep the old builds as long as you have the season 3 2pc bonus. As soon as you drop that then you go to the new builds

Dear Publik, thank you for your spriest guide videos. I just tried to run a +2 with the new S4 M+ difficulty conversions and found that my 467 ilvl SP had no survivability at all. Every group damaging mechanic pretty much 1-3 shot me. Is this because I am severely undergeared or are SPs just this squishy by design? I do not have this problem on other classes like Rogue/Monk/War etc.

Definitely could be a gear thing. But also make sure you are talented into Mental Fortitude. Other than that as a shadow priest you need to be proactive in using spells like Fade, Desperate Prayer, and Flash Heal (with protective light) to mitigate damage.

I would probably stick with dark ascension as you get started and then move to void eruption as you get comfortable

Since you dont have any tier at all you are free to play with the new builds for season 4! The old builds were only particularly good with the old set

Why would you not take maddening touch for M+

I did a whole video on that here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aonOhJp4ZayJg8k TLDW: Mind Devourer is 3% more single target damage and better for priority target damage and only loses to Maddening Touch on mass AoE. Depending on the key and how you pull it you would need to constantly pull massive to get Maddening Touch to win overall, but certainly an option for high push keys.
