SHADOW STICK METHOD | PRIMITIVE COMPASS

Knowing how to make your own compass can make the difference between life and death in a survival situation. In this video, I'll demonstrate how to create your own by using the shadow stick method.

Great tool for the toolbox. It's more accurate than using an analog watch method. And you can get fancy using cordage and Pythagorean theory methed.

@@STOKERMATIC I have a question that I cant seem to find an answer for regarding the cheaper non map compasses. I have a Brunton 9041 and 9042 that i really only use for cardinal direction finding. They both have degrees on the outer (non rotating) bezel. My question is what can I actually use the bezel degrees for? Do I have to always orient the compass North needle to the 360 degreee bearing? I'm confused.

Add a little water on the puck, it will produce a slurry .This will make the sharpening process a bit quicker .
