Hi Alex, these videos are great and respect to you for sharing your story. Theres so much to comment on in this video and in text form wouldn't do it justice but I can appreciate in all your videos you're speaking from the heart which is rare online and takes courage to do so so again massive respect. Regarding Carl Jung's shadow work; it's important with any psychological theory that we expose ourselves to, is that we should make effort to understand the person who wrote it first. A good place to start would be the biography by Deirdre Bair on Jung. It's one of the best out there and when you read it you can gauge out the character that Jung was, the good and the bad and inbetween. There is a lot of Jungian theory that is good, but unfortunately Jung was human and had his flaws and these are manifest in his ideas. Understanding his character will shine a great deal of light on why he might have proposed such a construct as the shadow in the first place as a way to explain himself to himself. Jung actually admits this in his final work Memories, Dreams and Reflection where he self admits that his works where his own personal myth and a way of distilling out his own individuation. Really, he was interested only in himself. To be blunt here, Jung actually wasn't a very nice person, and most notably towards his wife Emma which he had many affairs outside of his marriage, only to then dump his mistresses whom he spent years of analysis with, some of them started out as patients. They idolised him, for most of their lives only to miss out on their own personal journeys, and to be dumped when he saw fit and no longer served his purpose. For some, he didn't even bother to attend their funerals. He would often be verbally and sometimes physically abusive to his patients. I'm saying all this in the context of what you've said and as someone who has been there and is still on personal development journey, not to introject ideas and beliefs that have no place in your psyche. Do not fall into the trap of living your life through ideas and beliefs of Jung or anyones personal myth. Uncover your own and become who you should be with your potential in the world that is your birthright. I'm basing this from my own intuition from very limited information received in these videos that you have good character and a really strong intellect that needs to be used in the world. Relating, broadly, (as anyone who is not verse in theory or ideas, be it from culture or internet gurus would understand) is what will deal with any 'shadow' issues anyone may or may not have and where the real development and journey will come from. Kindest regards🙏

@@jakeford8916 hi Jake, this comment is very inspiring, it is definitely my intention going forward to reduce unintentional external influences so that I can be authentically guided by in my inner intelligence. I may look further into this one day, I don’t believe in coincidences and I trust that your intention behind this comment was pure. Thank you for reaching out.
