I look forward to finding more about the "terminus" creatures we saw like at 37:05. based on the dungeon they appear at, and help usher in, the end of days and are something entirely distinct from sineaters and voidsent, seemingly entirely beyond the bounds of the elemental balance. We only know at the point of this video that creation magic was going haywire due to a force incomprehensible even to the Amoratians (in itself very worrying), and these things were purposefully shaping themselves from Amorath's deepest fears.

Emet had every opportunity to kill you & the Scions but he never did. It can be interpret in many ways but i believe he was testing us to see if we were worthy of continuing the Ancients legacy. In the final battle he just knocked out the other Scions cause it was alway the Warrior of Light that interested him the most & it was up to us to prove to him we deserve to live. He has been carrying this burden for an eternity always having the weight of it all upon him (as you can tell by his posture) but when we defeat him that weight is lifted off him. Emet has so many layers to him as a character which is why he resonated so well with a lot of the FF14 player base. Also don't worry about your reactions & ugly crying we all did the same when we first experienced this emotional rollercoaster. However it is not over yet the feels train has yet to arrive at its destination so buckle up you haven't seen anything yet :D

Because unlike Moenbryda, we had proper time with Emet-Selch. Obviously instinct dictates not to trust Ascian(for Scions and player aswell), so there was always gap between you. He saved Y'shtola from Lifestream(again..), even if he didnt have to and even if you should be thankfull for this good deed, you look at it with suspicion instead. Real tragedy is, if things were different, you and Emet-Selch could be friends. But you were both walking paths that were destined to clash.

Émet was suicidal, the poor guy wanted to die for millennia now as he was suffering from survival guilt. More than bring everything back to what they were, Émet wanted the struggle to end the most. Unlike the other Ascians, Émet did give a chance to many civilizations to prove themselves. While all of them failed in his eyes, we have to admit that him giving a chance for "lesser beings" once was already a miracle. This happening again and again is even more surprising as he raised many nations in order to invoke as many Calamities. Émet had the gun to put an end to the whole Rejoining thing the moment the WoL set foot on the First. While he didn't pull the shot himself, we as the WoL merely took the gun from Emet's hands and then shoot him. More than that, Émet was also swayed to end everything when he took into account the main antagonist of 5.3 . They, who lost their own sense of self for the sake of others , deserved to die by the end of their hero albeit without knowing it.
@cyphi4743 жыл бұрын
@@randomstreamer2868 I think he just realized what he fought for is long gone. Because even if Rejoining succeeded, they wouldnt be able to restore everything and everyone as it was. The first time I ran Amaurot, it legitimately scared me. Maybe because I've had nightmares that seemed similar. But the endless city burning, the downfall of a once-great civilization...its biblical apocalypse was truly striking in its presentation. The best villains are ones where you not only find them sympathetic and understandable, but you get to like them and could even agree with them. As Emet says earlier in Shadowbringers, it's moral relativism - it's a clash of ideologies, both you and him trying to preserve your races. And from that, you know that he is as righteous and determined as you, and just like you, he will not back down. I easily get why so many players love him, he's a fantastic character.

Sooo many peeps go for the "You know I can!" option, which isn't bad by any means but (since I see future vids showing you've been past 5.3) the option you chose is just perfect for this world, story and game, and who you specifically are. I know I'm a year late, but there's a SUPER important detail people often don't pick up on because of the many heavy-handed uses of metaphor in the dialogue of this game, so if this helps even 1 person I will be happy. "Offering up a portion of the planets living energies" is a euphamism for sacrificing the newly born people and races that Hydaelyns followers wanted to protect and pass on the mantle of stewardship to, before the sundering even. The races we play as, which were born after the second sacrifice that brought new life to the Star. Her followers didn't "not want to bring back" the people who were sacrificed, they didn't want to sacrifice the lives of people who Zodiark's followers saw as lesser. They saw it as an unfair trade, and wanted to hold the new people's lives as equal to their own. Hydaelyn was more or less created to protect us.

I stopped watching these for a few weeks and now I've powered through Il Mheg to this in a day or so. FFXIV did something not a lot of games managed to do with this finale. From the Crown of the Immaculate onward, I had no idea what was gonna happen. It was an entirely new feeling to be near the end of a video game, an MMO of all things, and be so shellshocked by the story twists that I just kind of passively absorbed it instead of being more proactive. I felt like what the WoL and Scions felt; shocked, lost, confused, angry, depressed. When Amaurot appeared, the look on my face was like yours. When I started piecing together the little clues and hints dropped by citizens, before Hythlodaeus' conversation, I was excited. When I puzzled together everything including what my old new friend said, I actually screamed. Then the final dungeon happens, and the trial, and it's just an extraordinary set of moments and storytelling that I was left speechless and reeling for a bit. When I made it from the First back to the Source (I'd spent the entire 5.0 journey exclusively in the First. Semi RP I guess) I didn't just teleport to the rising stones. I walked out into the overworld, mounted, and rode back. I needed time to absorb and deal with what just happened. And it's not over yet. I mean, yeah you still got 5.1-5.3 to wrap up some story stuff, but what I mean is that we still have a few revelations left. Amaurot gave us about 80% of the story of what happened during the endtimes and how it ended up where we are now. The last 20% though? That shit is going to be very important.
