With RBM i think using a spear and shield wall is very effective. Also having multiple groups of infantry is key, have a small group to move around the flank and attack from behind while the enemy is locked in combat with your shield wall

I typically use Steam Workshop, and don't have to do much else :) Though do make sure you're on the right version of Bannerlord for the mods.

Fourth day as a second century warlord, we attempt to join a battle on the side of the guy we want to ally with but he and the guy he's fighting have really similar names and its finally dusty, and i misread the standards and attack the wrong guy, so now we're stuck with this total loser of liege lord, because how the f#$k do you explain that after a battle?

I felt that the europe map caused nothing to really go on between the other factions, and as I've not played the most recent version of this mod and how much has changed, I thought kt best to go back to the vanilla map where things happen xD
