Calee, I just heard your song for the first time while streaming music on my computer. I liked it so much that I went to KZbin and found your video. When I saw your Mom's picture holding you as a baby, I recognized her. We sang together at Ricks College years ago in a dance band and Showtime Company. I want you to know that I remember how much your Mom really did love to sing and perform and people enjoyed listening to her. I not only remember her as a soloist, but I remember your parents singing, "Eternity Is You" on a tour we did throughout the Eastern US. This was shortly after they were married and love sparkled in their eyes as they sang. What a wonderful tribute you have written for a wonderful mother. The truth of your words makes my heart smile! It was so fun to see her and her beautiful family. May she rest in peace until you all can be with her again someday.

This was sung at my Aunt's funeral in March after she passed away at 38 from cancer. It was one of her favorite songs. I listen to this when I am missing her. She was the light and the music of our family. I will miss her dearly until I see her again on the other side.

Still my favorite Mothers Day song sent to me from my daughter Angela Villa years ago. :-)
@potatoef4 жыл бұрын
It started with rock-a-bye, comforting when I'd cry All in her own style Then popcorn before my eyes, turning frowns upside down Into smiles With songs of the birds up high, looking at the blue, blue sky The wind as it rushes by Then leading me, guiding me, walking beside me she helped me To walk in the light And she built my house on a rock And she lives all that she taught And she is all that a woman should be She put the music in me I knew He was really there, He heard my child's prayer Answering from up above She gave like a little stream, I was her sunbeam And I felt my Savior's love I saw her kneel and pray with our family every day Listening to each whispered word Gentle in deed and thought, all the things Jesus taught Following promptings she heard And she lives to search, ponder, pray And she gives every day So her thanks will always be thanks indeed She put the music in me He made the tiny wings of each little bird that sings In the leafy treetops up high And all creatures great and small, I know God made them all Because of her sweet lullabies She's like a star shining bright And helps me to choose the right And she gives me the hope of a life yet to be She put the music in me She is so good to me Heavenly Father sent her to me And she taught me to lift up my voice and sing She put the music in me She put the music in me She put the music in me

A friend of mine introduced me to Calee Reed's song about 6 years ago. I was going through a particularly hard time in my life, and deeply missed my mother - even though by then she had been gone (also from cancer, as Calee's mom did) for about 8 years. My friend gave me this CD and this CD (and the generosity of my friend), helped me in ways that cannot be measured. Even though Calee's mom and mine were very different, I'm grateful for the love and healing in this song. It helps me want to be a better mom and Christian to my children and also those around me.

I want to thank you for this song. From the bottom of my heart thank you. My mom passed away almost 4 years ago. She wasn't a member of the church while she was on this earth but I know for a fact that she was the one who helped Heavenly Father and Jesus lead me to the church. She's working so hard on the other side of the viel for my family. I am so happy that families can be together forever. I miss her so much.....

I am not alone. A mothers day poem for the grieving adult son or daughter. She raised me up to be the person I am today. Beautiful inside and out. a soul that smiles brightly. Love for all people. Kindness, compassion, genuine empathy, gentleness over machismo. She was my first example of what being a truly beautiful person was all about. She built my house upon a rock and put the music in me. Every day, she testified to what perseverance was all about. That trying and failing was better than not trying at all and that life is a marathon and every day is a practice run. She left an indelible mark on my life, our struggles both together, and a part, a lesson in how character is built and how patience is practiced. How relying on self is important but how families live and die by relying on each other and how blood is thicker than water, no matter how long its separated from the "body". She raised me up to believe that anger is best reserved for inequities in society and never for the ones we love. How love is best practiced like an extreme sport. Never dull. never shortchanged. Risky. Satisfying. She sacrificed every day to raise me...not solely because I took her energy as a kid but because she was already running on empty when she had me and so she struggled to fill her cup. You see we forget that being a parent is only part of an identity and that the individual still exists, their internal cup, with holes a plenty..... When she left this world, a loss I suffered, but an eternal perspective I gained Because SHE raised me up, SHE left a piece of HERSELF with me. Every day when I look at my self in the mirror, I see my self but I also see her. Every day I break off a piece of my self to give to other people, I see her and its in that process, that daily process that I am reminded that I am not alone. She is still here. Some days I have to look real hard for those reminders and I am grieving as much as I am breathing, its on those days that I need to find a mirror, to see a part of her staring back at me..telling me...you live for both of us now...you are not alone but some one else is, go find that person and leave a piece of your self with them.... Kevin Cline 4/16/2015 In honor of Joy Kay Cline 12/21/1961-12/18/2014 Thank you for this song Calee.

This made me think of my sweet mom, and my sweet mother-in-law. They both raised us to embrace the Gospel of Christ in our lives, and to turn to Him in times of need, or just whenever. I love them both so much. Heavenly Father sent them to us. They put the music in us. ❤️

I heard this amazingly beautiful song at the funeral of a dear friend, an a sweet, loving woman who I will miss and who reminds me of my own sweet, dear mother who passed away over a decade ago. What a tribute this song is! How perfect! It says all that is in my heart about my own mother and as I sat there listening to it, I couldn’t help but think, I sure wish they could sing this at my funeral and mean this about me! My mother taught us through music, and it is because of her my testimony of the Savior and the gospel grew...and my love of singing. Thank you for this beautiful tribute. Your mother must have been an angel. She must be so very proud of you and who you’ve become!

This is such a beautiful song. Today, my heart is aching because my mom has cancer and only has maybe a week or two or less to live. We just found out she has cancer just 2 months or so ago. We almost lost her almost 12 years ago due to some other disease and she fought that and beat it, but this time.. She is so weak. :( I pray that she won't be miserable much longer and that we can heal from losing someone close to our hearts. I spend as much time with her as possible. And I'm so thankful she is my mom and that she has been our light throughout our lives and will continue to do so when she passes on to the next life. Thank you for sharing your beautiful song. Such a wonderful voice.

+Jennifer Miller Your comments touched me deeply, as it was three years ago today in which I spent the last week with my sweet mother. I pray the Lord will bless and comfort you and that He will bless and comfort your mother as she passes from this life to the next. Jennifer, I have felt my mother near so many times when I have needed her. I will think of something, excitement builds in me as I think, oh, I can't wait to tell mom this or that and then realize I can't share with her. I don't know if that feeling ever goes away. I've heard over and over that time heals. I don't know if that is true because when I think of losing her, my heart aches as if it was yesterday when she left this world. But, I do know that we grow strong, adapt and find ways to exist without our mother's influence in our lives. Thank God, literally, for wonderful mothers who have taught us how to be strong women. I'll be thinking about you and praying for you and your sweet mom.

Thank you for your kind words. My mom passed away that same day that I wrote. It's been so hard. And yes I do feel the same way... I keep wanting to tell her something that happened, but I can't. Not in the way I want to tell her. I still talk to her and I know she is listening, but it's not the same. And I wonder the same thing... Will time really heal all heart aches. I feel separation anxiety. It hurts, but I'm trying to feel ok. My mom's funeral was beautiful. I feel peace when I go to her grave. I know she is happier and not in pain anymore. She is with her dad now. Thank you so much for replying to this. And I hope you are doing ok. I'm so sorry that you lost your mom too. It's hard, but like you said.. Our moms' made us strong. We can keep going because they would want us to keep living and they want us to be happy

When I heard your song the tears just flowed, I couldn't stop them. I felt such happiness as well, because I felt the same way about my mom. She put the music in me!
