Shadowrun 4e: Character Creation With Chummer

I jumped into a shadowrun game from an invite by a friend. The dm has been beyond accommodating with me being brand new to the system and he uses chummer too so this video is a huge help for me to take off some of the burden from him.

Played Shadowrun twice, both times 4th edition. Both times the character creation made me want to burn the damn book. Both times I ended up with characters I disliked. Just checked the PDF. 400 points to spend on EVERYTHING, barely any guidelines. I have a concept, just want to play the damn game without several sessions just crunching numbers for character creation. And so, here I am.

If you're still learning the rules, I'd recommend being flexible with the character concept. Pick something broad like "infiltrator" or "street sam" and then just look through the book to see how you might actualize it. The customization is a big draw for most, but I completely get that it can be a turn off when you're newer to the system. I'd heartly recommend talking with the GM or more experienced players to see if they can point you towards mechanics that might help you fulfill your goals for the character. Failing that, strangers on the internet should know. Also, don't play a hacker in your first game. It's a lot of extra materials to learn when you still don't know the basic system.

​​​@@Fallacyboy I lernt that the hard way by going technomancer haker/rigger It was uniqe and fun but wery demanding, i had a lot of reading. WAR! Content is quite op so dont overuse it and make sure you know what it does Me and our gm didnt check it (as i had the only war Item and we both forgot bout it,cluster grenades) Long story short i firerd it in a big room Underground (bout 15 wide circle) at a creature inderwater expecting efect similar to he. I colapsed that entier section , and died in the colapse. Now im planing to make a hacker sniper and i think the GM is trying to convert me into a gm (had an idea for a character to hard to make as a PC bit was offered to rune em as a miniboss)
