Somebody tried to recreate it in the 2010s series as a steam workshop mod. They almost got there, but not quite. So much nostalgia for this game.

Recently played through the 2058 modded version of the game. I felt like it was an improvement over the original since you get payed enough money from johnsons to not need to farm data nodes in the matrix.

The saturated colors and grainy, grimy look of the Genesis's graphics fit well with cyberpunk. And this game seems to have an 80's stain covering everything despite the game being from the mid 90's. Although I miss some mohawks. And Joshua might as well look more like a punk and less like a young Bruce Campbell.

If Hasbro is trying to make D&D into an MTX MMO, just make an MTX MMO. We already have Neverwinter + D&D Online, but both are instanced and not open world. So we can have yet another entry into the oversaturated and overstunk open world MMO market. I'll still play it if it's something like Forgotten Realms Open World.

They want a near 100% conversion of existing players with exponential growth. Damn what the players want, this is about making as much money as possible and leveraging their position as the "default" tabletop game. That's why the reaction has scared them so much because it threatens to take that position away from them.
