Blargh, missed you. I was the guy talking about pets with the first stream. If you've not already researched it (and now I'm not tired and drunk) the tl;dr for anyone reading is: Pets got reworked to be tougher and better in combat. They attack faster, more often and you can pick their playstyle; they can pick off the tougher foes, avoid combat all together and focus on not getting hit, ect. Many mods were improved either by given bigger numbers or outright changed (coolant leak doesn't do 10% slow any more, it just blasts nearby enemies with cold stacks now for example) Their attacks got made *actual* weapons now and all relevant mods moved to them, so as well as getting new mods, functionally pets have had their mod slots doubled. I did a terrible job of explaining this in the stream: Charm got nerfed by having credit/item drop bonuses removed. People were bringing it for that and only that. The item/credit drop got put into it's own mod which any companion can use, so your space-fox can perform the duty you originally brought the smeeta for. Spare Parts for robot companions is sort-of equivalent now: it doubles the chance of a specific enemy when you kill it of dropping an item. Now you bring smeeta because you want it's chance to give you buffs like better critical hit chance/hits (I forget which) or it's ability to evade, ect. You want the better loot, you bring the mod on the pet you want.

I enjoyed this quest but I'm not sure I'm a fan of the characters. Why do they all act like teenagers?

Regardig generative AI and such. The most contact I had with that were meme lets plays here on youtube like AI Presidents playing Souls games and the like. Which is always funny to watch. And a buddy of mine made a few wallpaper images with Stable Diffusion as a test about a year ago now. That is about it. I do not think it is bad per-se. It should however be restricted as soon as it is used for commercial purposes. Everything you said about the Battlemage (3x INT SP, Spell Absorption, etc.) is how Sorcerer class works in Arena and Daggerfall, NOT Battlemage. <.<

"...in Darkness" advantages/disadvantages seem really powerful because 95+% of Daggerfall's combat is indoors and that counts as "darkness". Anything I'm forgetting here or wouldn't " in darkness" traits be a more optimal choice for the fireball spam and red mage builds than "in general" traits?

Sorceror has the Atronach-like abilities, not Battlemage. Also, you can use enchanted items to refill your magicka, too, so generally magicka shouldn't be a problem. Some traits and skills really clash tho iirc, so be careful with stacking them in character creation. Like the khajiit get a racial climbing bonus so they never gain climbing exp, regen traits means you don't get medical exp etc., so it might be a good idea to just mess around with character creation for a while before starting the "real" big save. It's a wonderfully messy game.
