Yeah Massachusetts based band...some members of Shadows Fall & Kill Switch Engage were in a band called Overcast...very heavy hard-core band

Super stoked for new Shads...this song was solid imo...they went on hiatus due to bad ticket sales & running out of money to afford touring essentially... Brian Fair (vocals) seemed to do the family thing the past decade and local projects & 1 off shows Matt (rhythm guitar) I believe did production work with other bands & has recently been involved with former Megadeth members Chris Broderick & Shawn drover as the bassist in their new band Jonathon (lead guitar) has been playing lead for Anthrax for several yrs Jason (drums) has done stints in a cpl bands Flotsam & Jetsam 2014-2017 & most recently Overkill 2017-2024 Not sure what Paul has been up to

During the 12 year hiatus, the members were busy with other projects. Jon (one of the guitarists) was in Anthrax for a while, Jason (the drummer) just recently was featured in a supergroup collaboration called Category 7 with the vocalist from Armored Saint, Jack Gibson from Exodus, Phil Demmil (ex-Machine Head) among others I can't remember right now. Some members even collab'd on a track for my buddy Cody's band Carnivora, which I am highly thankful for. It's good to have them back. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go listen to they're cover of Critical Mass by Nuclear Assault while I go take a shower, LATER!!

What the fuck do you mean in Anthrax for awhile??? he's been in the band since 2013 as the lead guitar player and is still in the band. lol Man I hate when people spread misinformation like this. Anywho the other guitar player Matt Bachand was in the band Act of Defiance that was started by ex Megadeth members Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover after they both quit Megadeth. He played bass guitar in that band They have two full albums and they are killer they also have the guy that did vocals on Joey Joridison's band Scar the Martyr. I think AOD are defunct now but it's killer stuff. Shadows Fall Drummer was in Overkill for years after Shadows went away. so it shows that these guys are all killer musicians and found a home somewhere afterward so glad they are back I highly suggest you guys do a deep dive they have a seriously solid discography. Last time I listened to these guys was back in 2005 at ozzfest etc. Pretty much the same from what I remembered. Nothing bad, nothing amazing….but man I feel old lol

They were part of the Boston metalcore scene with All that Remains & Killswitch in the 2000's.....shadows fall is still in my gym playlist & it isnt this song .

I'm a huge fan that's been waiting for them to come back since they left. I love when they do the pinch harmonics but it definitely overstayed itself on this song to the point of feeling dated. I'm sure Dimebag would approve of that section though and I can get used to it. They're back! That's all that really matters. I feel like maybe this was the first song they wrote for their return and Jon got trigger happy on the guitar and went overboard. I'm sure this won't even be close to the best song. I think it was just fan service that got carried away haha.
