Sonic Advance 2 (GBA) All Bosses (No Damage)

Another Sonic Advance boss rush. Nothing too difficult here except the final stage which I recorded entirely (since the last boss is a pushover) and true final boss. While it is my favorite Sonic game on GBA, it also has some of my least favorite bosses (like Aero Egg). It was nice to play it again, though. Hope you like this video!

I hate that Egg Saucer & Egg-Go-Round boss fight in Sonic Advance 2 the most, quite difficult to avoid damage without taking any big risks. Later in Sonic Advance 3, the boss fights are all fun except for the one in Toy Kingdom while the Cyber Track is the more annoying gimmick to beat Eggman, Twinkle Snow is at least doable but those 2 you can't abuse Cream's chao - Cheese to make the boss fight 10x easier.

But I really didn't like the bosses all that much especially the second half, and the Chaos Emerald hunt for EVERY character was jarring. It has fun moments, but it has a lot of frustrating moments.

The final boss of this game is a mixture of the three final bosses from the classic games: it has the moving piston/platforms from final zone (Sonic 1) the missile arms from the Death Egg Robot (Sonic 2) and the laser from the Kyodai Eggman Robo (Sonic 3 & Knuckles) (btw, True Area 53 shares lots of similarities with the Doomsday Zone from S3&K)

This right here is how you do 2D Sonic bosses: The ability to damage the boss at practically all times as long as you're skilled enough to dodge its attacks. Not waiting around for minutes on end for a telegraphed opening that allows you to jump at it exactly one time before its nanny i-frames wag a finger at you and prevent you from damaging it further.

Yes! Sonic Advance 2, one of my favorite childhood games I played on GBA and the first game I ever played on besides Rayman 3. The rev up spin dash is different, there is no need to wind up at all, it's still the same speed from what I played and tested. Getting Chaos Emeralds is a pain in the ass to do, must collect all 7 emblems to access to them. Cream the Rabbit is definitely the most broken character in the game besides Sonic Advance 3. You can double tap the left/right directional button to speed up a little bit to make the boss fight easier to approach but this only works for Sonic only.

Well, nothing compares to Sonic games on Genesis. Still, these games are very good and mostly play like older titles. So if you like classic Sonic then at the very least you should try playing these. The music is not as memorable, though.

This game's later bosses get extremely difficult, which is also the case for several other handheld Sonic games (e.g. the Sonic Rush series and the other Sonic Advance games). Those speedrunners make it look so easy. You also need ultra-precise timing to even _hit_ some of those bosses during the really short window when they're vulnerable.

Egg Hammer Tank at 0:15 is the easiest boss in the game, nothing special, its pinch mode has no changes Egg Cannon Tank at 1:43 is easy too, once it enters pinch mode, the fight gets easy (at least for me) since it is no longer able to aim at you Egg Totem at 3:01 can be considered a medium difficulty boss, once you destroy the cannons, you can take the boss out with no problems the Egg Bomber at 4:38 is very annoying especially when it enters pinch mode, dodging the bombs is okay, the hard part is dodging the debris 6:06 Egg Saucer's hand is the most annoying part, since it can crush you, resulting into a insta-kill, the laser is a minor threat, taking out the laser can make the fight easier, since the only thing you should focus on is the hand 8:00 Egg Go-Round can be tricky, but if you know the right time attack it safely, then there will be almost no problems for you 9:03 Egg Frog can be a pain in the ass for players who don't know how to switch gravity, the major threat is its bomb launcher, since it leaves a flame trail The boss rematch at 10:5 shouldn't be a problem if you remember the previous boss strategies 15:12 Super Eggrobo Z is just a combination of Sonic 1's final zone and Sonic 2's Death Egg robot The True Final Boss can be considered a throwback of Sonic & Knuckles Doomsday Zone boss, since you should trick it into getting hit by its own projectiles
