@@L.K.48 To be honest the world is a hostile place, populated by many awful people. Not agreeing that anyone should let it overwhelm them but it's really understandable if it does, and it's not simply a matter of an individualized problem, but rather a systemic one...if humans were just a nicer species...

@@CassiniProjekt The world isn't hostile, it's rather that it's possible to experience unpleasant things. The very concepts of beauty, safety, comfort, growth, nourishment, well-being, happiness etc. have been conceived by people in this world. If the world really was such a cold and dark and hostile place we wouldn't know any of those things. Perception is key. I'd recommend reading up on Stoicism as it can be a good and stable foundation for a stairway out of the abyss of depression and cynicism.

@@L.K.48 Are all philosophies not just a cope with the profound emptiness of existence and the brutality of the struggle to survive? Why do you think the Earth is an island of life surrounded by infinite darkness - to paraphrase William Shatner when he went into space? Most of us are born into slavery to make the elites live in comfort. On another level, animals are born into a hell of extreme agony, suffering and pointless death to satiate human palettes. Where's the beauty in that? Are such things as happiness and well-being not fleeting anyway? Why is the universe set up to maximise pain and why does it tend towards imbalance and dissolution? Billionaires, human domination of the Earth, the mass extinction of wildlife, the scarcity of life in the universe all point to the universe being preconditioned towards an extreme lack of equilibrium or harmony. Why?

Beautifully done 🖤 I agree with kipskip_ that there’s something truly unique about this game and it’s hard to describe how it differs from the other souls games; perhaps it’s due to the medieval horror aspects of it, the haunting music, references to religion or the connections shared with NPCs. The world felt so real in a sense. I have yet to play it, but it sounds like the remake doesn’t have that same sort of feeling. Needless to say, this game is an absolute treasure! 💎

Thank you! I loved it so much I could hardly stop playing, so finished it quite soon after I made this video, though not without dying quite a few times... I've returned to it for some more playthroughs since, it's definitely my preferred version of the game. You have great taste to have picked it up so long ago and still be playing, I hope your run is going well too!
