@w0bbl3r7 жыл бұрын
Funny, very very funny, but an obvious rip off of kevin turvey by Rik Mayall.
@ridanann2 жыл бұрын
Alright but that means Kevin Turvey is like Ronnie Corbett do you really want to go down that road cos there's not a lot of love down that road and it's a bloody long road before you get to the punchline. Like if Ronnie Corbett pulled a chicken joke you have the dictionary in the middle so just imagine I've written the dictionary not just the word dictionary but the actual dictionary word for word then you'd have to get to the other side the evolution of this idea has been done to death by KZbin one man in front of the camera sat down telling jokes was never going to be any better than the performer pretty sure Ronnie Corbett would have been the first though hancock's Half Hour might count I don't know anyway boobs. that was the real punchline not the chicken thing earlier that was basically just stalling to really drive home how supercilious Ronnie Corbett sense of humour is and to demonstrate the clear damage of growing up with Ronnie Corbett on the TV.
@w0bbl3r2 жыл бұрын
@@ridanann No. It's not one man sitting in a room in front of a camera. It's the characteristics of the man, how he acts, how he is hilariously stupid without having any idea he's stupid. Quite the contrary in fact. If you think I was saying it just because it's a guy in a room in front of a camera telling jokes, then you missed the point entirely. Go watch Kevin Turvey. They are almost the same character, only they are doing their thing in a slightly different way, in how they are getting their points across. Turvey investigated things, where Shadwell just talked about fucked up things because they had just happened to him or something. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to say this character is bad because it's a Kevin Turvey style character. That would be like saying Katherine Tate's "Am I bovverred#?" schoolgirl character must be shit because she's influenced so heavily by Vicky Pollard from Little Britain. Both characters are great, both are hilarious (if a bit boring and repetitive in the case of both of the schoolgirl characters in my opinion), but you can't ignore the fact that one of them only exists in that final form they are shown as by the time we see them on tv, because of the previous character having such a huge impact on the writer who came up with the character.
