A lot of people got upset at me calling myself a "Saberspark knockoff." I appreciate people defending me but just to be clear, no one has actually ever said this nor do I actually think it. Every once in a while I try to find fun ways to shout out other KZbin reviewers and self deprecation is an easy enough joke. This joke went through several takes where I called myself a knockoff of someone including The Mysterious Mr. Enter, Toonrific Tarique and Johnny2Cellos. I landed on Saber because I felt it had been a while since I referenced him.

If you do wish to prepare and stock up on food that will actually last because to tell the truth canning food can only last a max of 5 years if in a deep freezer and that is if you use non rusting metal cans and use a full sealing system that welds them closed. Regular glass jars only has a life span of 3 months to 2 years max and that is if stored in a deep freezer and even then has a 30% probability of turning to poison after 3 weeks. Frozen food has a longer life span than precooked jar food because its factory sealed. Glass jars are absolute trash. Now if you want food that will last well Ramen can last you up to about 10 years max but has a life span of 1 to 5 years but can last 10 to 15 years max but less than 2% will last that long. beans that are dried have a life span of 40 to 80 years and potentially 100 years but they do have a 98% probability of suffering from what is called fogging after about 20 years which actually turns them to poison so its not 100% recommended but they are better for the long run. Dried split peas have a life span of 30 to 100 years and are technically a fully meal especially if you add a bit of meat in which small animals can easily be added to them but you do need water to cook them which would be harder to get. In reality you should stock up on distilled water which lasts longer and can last a good 10 years longer than regular water. In truth no food lasts really that long and if something happens then everyone is screwed because society is so reliant upon modern technologies that in reality 99% of the human race can not last 6 months do to the fact of how reliant we are on modern technology. If technology shuts down water will be the first thing required and that is for everything especially because the body requires water constantly and without water the human body will die at max of 3 days and if technology shut off then the water will stop flowing and grocery stores will run out in seconds and in reality 99% of all cities in the world are not close to a water source that is drinkable but in water sources that are drinkable they are filled with viruses and bacteria that would kill people. The water that comes from your tap is so filtered that you would be horrified at how much it takes to clean the water to make it actually drinkable. The mountain spring bullshit yea most water is so filtered to remove the piss and crack and bugs and viruses and bacteria and plants and dirt and grime and everything out of the water to make it actually drinkable. Hell if you drink water from the Mississippi river you can die from about 5554356354365 different plagues, viruses and bacteria to far fucking more than that random bullet number I typed up. If technology goes out at most 250 gallons of water would last you at max 3 weeks to as little as a week. In reality water goes fast and if you have a family you are fucked without water. Water is so valuable and takes so much time and energy and has so much stuff to go threw the process of making it consumable for humans that if water shuts down all stored water will go bad and even if you stock up you will run out. Hell a bowl of oatmeal takes about 20 ounces to make. A bowl of ramen takes up to 40 ounces of water and that is in a small pot to cook. There are 128 ounces in a gallon. A pot of 2 bags of split pea soup take 260 ounces at least which is 2 gallons. It takes 4 cups of water to make 1 pound of rice. There are 16 cups of water in a gallon. A small bag of rice is 1 pound. The regular size bag of rice is 2 pounds. 2 regular sized bags of rice takes 1 gallon of water to cook. It actually states on the rice bag that you should use 16 cups to 20 cups of water for a single 2 regular sized bags pf rice. There are 16 cups in a gallon. That means if you use the max amount of water that is 1.25 gallons of water to make a single bag of rice. Yea water will be gone fast. In reality if society collapses you wont need to worry about trying to survive because you wont survive because no one will. Water will go away and everyone will die within in reality less 6 months because water is not that drinkable to humans unless processed. Distilled water may last a longer time but you will still run out of it within days. Cooking and drinking will use of all your water in less than a week. If you try and ration it the water still won't last.

The cashier scene works even less as a “lol this employee is dumb” when Hank is literally using a credit card. Hank is not paying with cash, meaning that even if this mega store could write a Hank a receipt (which they probably couldn’t anyway) Hank doesn’t have the actual money to buy the computer in the first place, something no one brings up in the scene. This isn’t a general store in a town of 70 people, credit can’t go off of the cash you SAY you can give without proof.

Y'know, I've got one thing I find funny/ironic about this... Hamsters and gerbils being compatible despite having issues with one of the two happens with certain fish species as well. Koi and goldfish *are* compatible, but their children are completely sterile. Mollies and guppies, two live-bearing species in the same family, are also compatible, but it has to be a male guppy to a female molly (for obvious reasons). Not sure if their children are sterile or not though.
@miguelruiz4613

Molly guppy hybrids are sterile
@rollanddev
@rollanddev Жыл бұрын
Genetic compatibility goes much further than that; there's a number of trippy hybrid animals out there (sometimes called "chimeras"). Check out geeps, ligers and zonkeys, just to name a few. Or if you really wanna go down the mad science route, look into humanzees... Much of it boils down to the genetics of these species being similar enough on a chromosomal level for fertilization to occur. Interestingly enough, in many cases, the "best of both worlds" comes up. In some, well, fertility and health issues come up. As long as two animals are in the same rough family though (canines, large cats, horse/zebra/donkey/mule, etc.) there's likely to be a way to cross-breed them successfully. Kinda makes you wonder if nature doesn't intend for all species to genetically combine into some super-species that has all the powers, none the weaknesses somewhere down the road (possibly a-la giant anime super-robot or something).

Two big examples of preparing ahead of time: We already had TP years ago. When a tornado blew through our area I didn't wonder if we were going to be able to eat dinner, just if it would taste good. On a more day- to- day, it's great how often having a pantry of food, medicine and hygiene mean you don't need to drive to walmart in the middle of dinner for an ingredient, or at 9pm because you think you might be coming down with something and need medicine. It's nice going grocery shopping in your own pantry as long as you remember to resupply next time you go to the store

Somehow I came across this channel what feels like a year or two ago and since then he's all I watch for content like this lol, Honestly more refreshing and "mature?" Content creator. Anyway, huge fan of Shady!

It used to be a lot more common for people to have obsolete computers back in the day. I was born in 90s and used to see (what I now know to be) 80s computers everywhere growing up. When we got Win98, we kept that machine and OS for a good ten years.

Actually, adding to Shady's point about keeping emergency rations. We kind of take for granted the availability of food. There was a flood near my town a while ago. It cut off one of the shipping routes for my town. I'd say we lost a third of the supplies to the grocery stores for about two weeks while an alternate supply was sorted out.

@8:36 In the shot, it is also established that Hank is trying to pay with a credit card. If the system is down, they wouldn't be able to process the card. It would be different if Hank was paying with cash. In the late 90s, the manual credit card imprinter/ reader was also pretty much being phased out around this time.

I think it might have depended "where" you were at the time as well. I grew up in Northern Michigan, a pretty small town. So my family and most of the people around me probably thought of the hysteria as "big city problems". Also, my dad was an engineer, so he was just more annoyed at the process of updating an entire television station's equipment rather than worrying if it would all work out.

Fun Fact: there is a successor to Y2K called Y2038, where all the computers that measure Unix time (ie, the kind that avoided Y2K) will run out of intergers (32 to be exact) on 1/19/2038 at 03:14 PM and 8 seconds. Turns out, fixing this is less viable then the Y2K fix, since Unix time is how we AVOIDED Y2K, but the 32 interger time function is *Hard Coded* into many programming languages (ie, fixing it would break it completely). 64 interger time functions wont be affected by similar bugs for BILLIONS of years. There is still plenty of time for systems to be replaced and updated, so there is no reason for the media to panic....right? Source: Wikipedia, Year 2038 problem

My dad worked in tech support during Y2K. I was 11-12 and had rebuilt old IBMs with him to play modem games on like 688 Attack Sub. We laughed at the mass hysteria... until he told me the tech used to run the government's nukes were coded to floppies and not AOL. Still, the family sat with our traditional root beer floats, looking forward to Phantom Menace and Lord of the Rings in the upcoming year... and joking about the Mayan Apocalypse in 2012, and whatever raptures would occur before and after. Oh, and Phantom Menace was a banger as a 6th grader in a surprise midnight showing. I really only remember the beginning until Jar Jar, the pod race with Greg Proops from Whose Line and really loud rumbles, and the legendary Duel of the Fates. I'll never forget you Qui-Gon, nor Weird Al singing about you all a couple months later right after Blue (da ba dee da ba die). 💙 Remember how Bandit was going on about how the 80s were a different time? So were the late 90s/ pre 9/11.

@@collinmorris1632 I disagree that he is the best father because his actions have endangered Joseph in several episodes however unlike Nancy he takes a lot more responsibility for his actions whenever he does do something bad. He is also shown time after time to care about Joseph more than John redcorn ever will. I think he is probably the second best father after Hank only because Hank is a lot less chaotic & less prone to putting other people's lives in danger. I think Dale 100% deserves a better wife than Nancy.
