You gotta love the humble demeanor of Joe Cronin. He is exactly what this franchise needed to move on to after Neil. His comments about winning a championship and not settling for first+second round exits is also the EXACT thing I want to hear from my GM. Definitely a talent in Sharpe! Skills are a cross between Kobe and BRoy. Watching his compilation game tape shows that he can score from anywhere on the court effortlessly. If he continues to grow and learn the game, and develop defensively, the sky's the limit. Looking forward to summer league and the next move we make!

Brandon Roy came into the league a polished and a complete player. He has all the tools needed to excel, I just hope he's motivated and has a strong work ethic to improve/polish his game. If he has that he will have a very impressive career.

Man I miss Brandon Roy. Loved watching how dominate he was at UDUB and how well his game transferred over to the NBA. It's sad his career was cut short due to injury. It was delightful when Dame came to the league. Growing up I was a Sonics fan. Diehard Sonics fan. I used to not be a huge fan of Portland. But after Seattle was straight up cheated and robbed of our team I refused to follow them to OKC. I loved the players but I absolutely despise OKC still to this day. Being that Portland is the last team in the PNW and that they had drafted Roy, not too mention Kevin Colabro came to Rip City my transition to becoming a Blazers fan was much easier than I had originally anticipated it being. I've grown to absolutely love the Red and Black a lot like I did my Sonics. Now I'm a forever fan even if Seattle eventually gets the Sonics back I will always be a Blazers fan now. I'll be thrilled if Seattle gets our franchise back. But yeah I'll be riding for both Portland and Seattle. I'm pretty excited about this kid Sharpe as well as Walker. Reminds me a lot of how I felt when Seattle drafted Durant and Green. Anyway... I'm looking forward to watching these young men contribute and help Chauncey and Dame get to the playoffs. Especially with Grant!!! GO Blazers!!!! #RipCity

@@FatherFirst Love your passion and enthusiasm! I enjoyed the Blazers and Sonics rivalry during the late 80s/early 90s. Great stuff. Hoping this Sharpe kid is redemption for Roy's career being cut short. It's tough to have an opportunity to draft a shooting guard caliber of his immense talent and overall athleticism. Comes around once every 20 years. If he pops, we could be looking for Kobe 2.0. Go Blazers!

@@beamer1385 yes indeed. Those games throughout the 80s and 90s were intense. Playoff basketball atmosphere when they locked horns pretty much every time. It's sad that this was stolen from all of us. But it is what it is and I'm extremely happy to be a Blazers fan. And to be accepted amongst lifers to the team. I'm not a Fairweather fan either. Once in comitted I'm with the team through the good, the bad, and the ugly.

As a big laker fan, I LOVE Jabari’s game and thought he could be great for us. He can be perfect for Portland and might not be as seamless as some think (he is a rookie) but he’ll be a nice role player on winning teams for years to come and is a really great fit next to dame (he’s also had some moe harkless comps)

The dream would be to see Hart start the year as the 2 guard. But by game 60-70, I wanna see Sharpe’s minutes and productivity to climb as he adjusts his game. If the kid is lights out right away, give him the keys but we don’t have to throw him to the sharks just yet. He looks like a starting caliber/potential all star combo guard in this league. Just gotta nurture him right and let him grow naturally, he’s on a way different timeline to Dame and Nurk but the kid has potential to help this season on both sides of the floor.

The draft was decent. It's unfortunate we wasted our 46th pick. Right now even with the addition of Grant, Sharpe, and Walker, I still don't think it's enough. We need one more solid wing who's fundamentally sound, not a freaking one and done player. I am looking at Isiah Roby from OKC, don't know if OKC would give him up. The Grizzlies have a lot of wings clogged up, maybe just maybe we can get Dillon Brooks.

KD has a huge contract, wouldn't be surprised if we have to move Hart and/or let Nurk go (or sign and trade?) along with young guys like Simons, Little, or even Sharpe to make the deal happen. I am really not sure where our team stands logistically to make this deal happen, but I am excited for the future regardless.

I was shocked to hear Sharpe talk about defense as the key way he's gonna get on the floor. His defensive lapses I've seen on video are absolutely awful. I was shocked too to hear Cronin say defense is why they drafted him, and Billups say he's got great feet for defense. Are they watching the same guy? Hopefully they're right.

Portland won’t trade him unless they have a mutual agreement about the team direction going into a rebuild. Dame has been able to assist in front office decisions the past year to try and improve the team. He’ll continue to do that I can imagine until the mutual agreement is made. Currently Portland are trying to build the culture in which makes portland a possible destination as a championship contender
