This is what makes txg so awesome. It's not a 1-2 min hit on a particular thing. Great video with some really good insight

I am only 7 minutes through and it never ceases to impress me with how knowledgeable you all are. I know there are other really good fitters, but it takes a skill to take complex ideas and present them simply. As an Electrical Engineer myself, I truly appreciate that gift.

Gawain’s comment about TXG customers getting as much or more attention and input from TXG is a very accurate statement. I don’t want to sound like a TXG shareholder or Ian’s grandpa but I’m still blown away by my experience with them. I’m 70 and hadn’t played in 12 years. These guys treated me respect and professionalism. I’ve got a Mitsubishi shaft in my driver, Nippon Zelos shafts in my irons and Accra Shafts in my hybrids, so you know everything on their wall is in play, regardless of who you are. My game used to depend on wedges and putting. Thanks to Ian’s crew, ball striking is now a strength of my game. Many thanks to Accra and TXG for improving an old guy’s game.

I am 70 also. Just had a great fitting experience here in the U.S. My driver shaft recommendation was Mitsubishi. Slow swing speed at this age!

Samuel Collie it’s a great shaft. I have a Callaway Rogue driver and combined with that shaft, I couldn’t be happier. My issue has always been a low ball flight, to the point where I was better off using a 3 wood off the tee. Not anymore!

I just had a set of irons upgraded from Nippon to Accra Graphite shafts and OMG do they really make a difference. I know people might complain about the cost but having switched I can say it was totally worth it.

OH OH Oohhhhh WOW! This is a fantastic video. Three guys with tremendous amount of knowledge really creates the greatest piece of work. This is really an eye opener on graphite shaft for irons. There really are not much explanation of why iron shaft is better than graphite, so now it's really all about "feel", sad really. If this concept could properly spread here in Thailand or even Asia, I'm sure graphite shaft would have been fitted more on irons. A lot of close-minded people here. Oh well, this was the best 27 minutes of my day. It was so enjoyable that I could imagine you guys standing chatting all day long. Thanks so much for the great video.

Another great video. I feel like I was back in shaft technology class, except that cost me a lot of money! Thanks Ian for demonstrating how small the difference is between a "high kick point" and "low kick point" on the shaft. When I explain this to golfers they look at me like I'm telling some obscure club fitters joke.

Ah, but little diffs can make a huge diff in feel and performance, which is why being properly fitted is worth it.

Do you ever turn the simulator screen off and just shot at the wall to make it harder for player to adjust to the results, and thereby seeing the 'natural' swing a few more swing before adjustment turns in?

I know all fitters have their process but when fitting for the shaft what order do you go in. Swing speed, tempo, release pattern. I find that sometimes for the shaft it feels like I have 1000 puzzle pieces and there are a few that are flat out not good for the person’s swinging but there’s no absolute fit. Feel like great fitters I have been around will have a different opinion of what to fit you with on an almost day to day basis.

Great video. Quick question would a lower spinning ball help someone who slices it? Or go for more spinny ball? And same question for someone who hooks it
@clubchampionmedia6 жыл бұрын
more spin adds stability to the ball flight, less spin axis tilt and therefore less curvature
@rileyriley32356 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply but I’m confused, I’ve just watched clay Ballard do a video and he replied to someone saying “if your have trouble controlling your ball flight, you should play a ball that spins less and is more controllable” is he wrong?

Yup

Really interesting series guys. Do you think you could get Matt hitting shafts from the same line but at different weights so we can see how that influences his shots. I.e the fx300 line has three different weights to choose from(I think anyway 😂)

Getting a honest perspective really in the HQ of Accra is gorgeous! Thanks a lot guys. Do you actually have Accra iron shafts heavier than 100 grams at TXG? Would be nice to try those if it makes sense for my type of swing. Well see.Great stuff

With the overwhelming options available, fitting has become virtually imperative. Incredible video! The cost of a fitting is not astronomical; however, the price of the equipment continues to rise. In your opinion, will this become an obstacle for the growth of golf?

Wow I can't believe the whole bend point this is kind of debunked. I could swear, when I use a shaft like Xtorsion or HZRDUS, I feel it bend almost where the grip ends on the shaft by the bottom hand, but something like say a Blueboard or Red Tie, I feel much lower down. Is this simply just balance point messing with my "feels"?? Great video gents, I learn so much from you guys.

I think this video proves crossfields point more than ever they both clearly state in the video that shaft a can be high launch and a player with a certain swing will hit it low, crossfields message isn't about the shaft meaning nothing it's that what the player brings to the table is far more important than the any shaft swap can ever achieve
@banditbaker16756 жыл бұрын
Sorry Craig, I can't agree with your comment. As Ian has stated several times in previous vids, a golf shaft is a timing device that allows a golfer to deliver the club head onto the Ball. So the golfers delivery numbers and the shafts profile are of equal importance in producing optimum performance. Matching a shaft and club head to a golfers swing is where expert Club fitters perform their magic! Sometimes the match up of shaft to a particular golfer is unexpected but that does not invalidate the process. PS I suspect that Kevin was being Ironic
@kirklazerus6 жыл бұрын
@@banditbaker1675 sorry bandit I can't agree with you as the golfer is the person moving the shaft, creating forces that can clearly overcome what any shaft is designed to do, I will not argue that being fit is a must and that matching all this to a golfer will greatly benefit their performance but to think any piece of technology is anywhere near as important to the equation as the golfer is complete lunacy
@kevinreynolds41056 жыл бұрын
Totally was a tongue in cheek comment. I actually watch Marks Chanel. Good entertainment, plays some nice courses and fun to watch the ‘ banter ‘ What I don’t agree with\are the comments that shaft makes no difference. Granted it’s one part of the puzzle and not the whole. Considering the amount of subscribers they have I think it’s bad information to dismiss the role of the shaft, most of them will believe it. I personally have been fortunate enough to be fit by someone Ian knows, the shaft I’m in at the moment has made a big difference because it works in the head it’s coupled with and the swing weight and balance are right. Anyway it was just a light hearted comment 😀
