The more you cut the light on the wall behind the shafts the more you will see the effect. A 4x4 floppy right sider against the exterior wall camera left will help. Also you will find people will often want "fog" or "smoke" but what you really want is a hazer. If you cant do any of these you can use chalk used for gymnastics or climbing. put it in a bag and then once in awhile before you roll you can tap it and get some particulate matter in the air. baby powder might work as well.
@chadwin Жыл бұрын
Smart, thank you for the tips! I’ll give that a try with my floppy. And try out some chalk sometime if I’m outdoors so it doesn’t get all over the furniture. I still need to invest in a proper hazer, I’ve been using a cheap fogger for years 😆

Great video; perfect length! I look forward to more of your content throughout the year. Here is a question: how long did the haze last in the room at that density? would you have had to re-fog the room after 10 mins? 20? Obviously that should depend on the room size, but what have you experienced so far? Thanks!
@chadwin6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Tons of more content to come. I re-fog the room before every shot to get the optimal light rays effect, but it stays in the air for at least 10 minutes. If you didn't want it to be super dramatic, you could fog it and leave it for a while.

Thank you Chadwin! This video helped me so much, as I am trying to start doing more cinematic photography. I just subscribed :). But question, could these results be replicated with a strobe as opposed to an LED? I own a 300 Watt/s strobe with a 30 degree reflector that increases its output by one stop (almost like using a 600 Watt/s strobe). How would you change the set-up with this light as opposed to the 750 Watt LED you're using? Thanks!

Awesome! Glad it helped. Yes. you can replicate this same effect with a strobe as long as it is a hard source and not diffused at all, and powerful enough like your 300 watt. Good luck experimenting!
