Like I once said, even Kishore Kumar conceded to Rafisaab- meaning he knew Rafi was better than him. They maintained a close friendship & Kishore Kumar even sang "Man Re Tu Kahe Na Dhire Dhare" from Chitralekha (1964) in tribute to him, although I believe this a bit of a classical number and as we all know Kishoreda is not a trained singer. You should listen to the LP Mohammed Rafi live around the World Polydor records 1978 if you are a die hard fan of Rafi saab. You will see the commentary I posted. Another album (unfortunately not on KZbin anymore) I would say to listen to is Mohammed Rafi live in West Indies- especially the track "Main Jat Yamla Pagla Diwana" from Pratiggya (1975) with Dharmendra & Hema Malini. Sir, you are 70 and I am 33. Young or old Rafi has fans from all age groups & all walks of life. Naushad Ali was also not a fan of Kishoreda, did you know? ❤ Love from Florida in the USA to India 😎

Please do read my lifetime honest assessment about Muhammad Rafi Sahib It is law of nature that Muhammad Rafi Sahib was not given Bharat Ratna, it was a good decision as he was much more superior than these useless awards or rewards. Would these useless awards have added to his life more respect, love in the hearts of the people, fame, caliber, popularity or talent he had? I am now 73 and found of old songs, I analyzed for years & honestly believe that all the male or female singers in the subcontinent are thousand Kilometers away from his level or caliber. Allah gave him such a voice, dignity, respect, talent, love and character even living in a dirty environment of film industry. No smoking, no drinking, no scandal, very honest & humble which are the basic parameters of a very different & great person. When there was a conflict with Lata Ji, he said NO NEED OF LIFETIME AWARD (Royalty) from the songs, such a great thought & no greed. Now only what can I give him which can be useful for him at the heavens is DUA, my dear Rafi Sahib, May Allah bless you, Aameen, Aameen. I cannot measure the extent of respect & love I have for you as whenever I listen his classic & technically difficult songs, I enjoy a lot & not able to understand how Rafi Sahib developed such a FUN. Just listen the duets or the same song sung by Rafi Sahib or any other singer you will find the difference. As far as his voice is concerned it is only Allah Almighty who can gift to any one, he wants. He probably did not get proper education but how he came to this level where no one can or will reach. You were really the greatest singer & artist in the history of subcontinent who started with zero & no family background of music. Bollywood have & will produce hundreds of artists but they can never ever get Muhammad Rafi Sahib again. Ya, Allah, you can bestow any quality to anyone as you have all the powers to do it. Rafi was and is a youthful voice.. and Kishore was a different genre voice.. Rafi is all in one.. kishore is only for Romantic or sad songs... Rafi had a range which even most classical singers couldn't sing.. and kishore was more of flamboyant... Rafi can still be used for youth of today.. but kishore is only for above youth..

Respected Kishore kumar was uncle of Joy Mukherjee but Joy MUKHERJEE preferred Respected Rafi Sahab. However I have seen this movie when I was 8/9 years old with my elder sister in KOLKATA at Rupali cinema hall near Jadubabur Bazar at Bhawanipur. Now the Rupali hall is disappeared. Beautiful dance composed by P L Raj and music by Shankar Jaikisan and directed by respected Promod Chakraborty. The name of movie is Love IN TOKYO. ASHA parekh was with Joy Mukherjee. Really times and tides wait for none. This movie was released in 1968/1967.Time flied away.
