I saw season 4 this weekend. Absolutely wonderful. Many emotional moments. It really touched my heart when Matthew and Simon reconciled. Matthew is my favorite character of the disciples as I really relate to his feelings of being an outcast. I admire Shahar for his sense of duty to Israel.

My fav people in the show is Shahar, Giovanni, & Liz. Those three are the sweetest, most humble, and don't appear to be letting the limelight change who they are in their personal lives. I am always happy to see and read everything I can abt Shahar. I obviously love how he plays Simon Peter. He's a very gifted actor. But Shahar the man that I'm most impressed by.

I went to see the first few episodes of season 4 yesterday. I loved it, yes, loved it. The line where Jesus said - you cannot follow Me if you haven't forgiven someone. The scene where Peter gives Matthew a hug 😢 absolutely love it. When Jesus speaks, it is so "real" you can feel it! Then you have the idiots in the theatre watching with you, giggling and mucking around. Wish I could watch this movie in the peace and quiet of my own home. ❤ I love what you are doing and may God bless all the people involved in this movie and the making of the movie.

Since you mentioned Herod's step-daughter Salome, the dancer, here's a nugget you may find interesting: According to Josephus' writings, Salome met her own death in similar fashion to John's. While walking across a frozen river, the ice broke and she was stuck up to her neck and wiggled to try to free herself but only ending up becoming decapitated. Her father was super mad that his daugher was being used to kill John, and he declared war on Herod, who was defeated, after which, Herod and Herodias were banished to live in exile in Vienna. Oh, and by the way, Salome married her mother's ex-husband Philip, who was also her own uncle (and Herodias also married her own uncles, plural). Yuck. No wonder John had issues with this incestuous family.

It's possible what he's doing in Israel is classified. If no one knows then he can't be made a target by enemies who might find out how many root for him! please pray for his conversion. If he became a Christian then he could be a great witness for Jesus to his fellow soldiers. As far as I know he is not a believer. I base this on a quote I found - I just saw on FB an interview he and Noah James did with local Dallas media when they were filming down there and Shahar said "it's amazing to be able to bring these mythological characters to life." From this quote he does not believe the people in 'The Chosen' were real people.

Just going to point out that by law, reservists in Israel can’t legally refuse to serve if called up by the government. Regardless of his personal beliefs, it looks like he had two choices: indefinite prison sentences until joining IDF or immediately joining when called to the IDF.
