After 30 years I finally cut my hair and it was the way you described, I was in disbelief I finally did it but overjoyed and proud of myself that I finally did. I have no regrets and love my short hair. I feel lighter 😊 and I hope you continue to enjoy your new hair.

Just finished watching and thoroughly enjoyed how relaxing and easy this was to watch/listen to! Btw cutting your hair is such a liberating feeling! I didn’t regret it afterwards in fact it brought more excitement to me due to feeling like there’s “less consequences” of my reckless experimentations lol ie: dying it and bleaching with with no concern for the health of my hair bc I could cut it again 😭😭 Bask in the feeling sis I’m so happy you jumped that hurdle with yourself and didn’t let an emotional attachment to hair hold you back 🤍💫

8:11 I cut all my hair off while it was in super small braids in 2021 at like 4 am on a random weekday (it’s always chaotic! and the thought of having to take all those braids down on my own was a nightmare) and I felt so much relief. it felt like my hair had been holding all my stress and anxiety and getting rid of it felt so freeing. I’d tied my self esteem in my appearance to my hair for so long and cutting it all off (going from waist length to basically a low fade) made me appreciate myself and how I look a lot more. I got more comfortable in my own skin and was more okay with myself and my appearance than i had ever been in my life. I kept it short for over a year, it was so much easier to care for, it took hours off my hair routine, I spent a LOT less money on haircare and styling and got very minimalistic with my routine. I realized a lot of what I was doing for my hair before was a product of being easily influenced and general overconsumption. Short hair is also so much more conducive to a nomadic lifestyle lol, way fewer products and no tools necessary aside from a comb and a bonnet.

Of all the four times I’ve cut my hair off, it was due to an overwhelming sense of general suffocation, claustrophobia and helplessness. It was a way of feeling in control. And it always felt so freeing. Basically something was not right. Alhamdulillah things are getting better for me now. Yayyy! Shahd is back, as for the haircut you might regret it a bit later if your hair hasn’t ever been that length before (speaking from experience) but over time you’ll grow to appreciate it. I would however recommend going to a hairstylist to shape up the cut if it’s really choppy. 😊

8:05 I cut my hair short after wanting to do so for a while too! I felt instant relief and joy and absolutellyyyy loved it! The only hurdle I faced was trying to style my hair under my hijab/inside cap so it wasn’t a curly puff underneath 🫠 sooo I stuck with twists. It was fun to see how the style grew out and watching it change overtime. Overall, Alhamdulilah loved 🩵✨
