Those days Pakistan had a real strong team.....India was much weaker as a team......the team was too much Sachin dependent.....all the bowlers were millitary medium pacers....look at Mohanty and Kuruvilla....Afridi and Ijaz was going berserk but still no bouncers aiming at the heads of the batsmen....no Yorkers....no slower ones.....bullshit kind of bowling.....just compare the present crop of Indian bowlers to them....

This was Sahara cup 1997-the only tournament in the 1990s when India bullied pakistan....this was the 5th match-a dead match-since India won all the 4 previous matches!!....Sourav Ganguly crushed pakistan with his all-round performance throughout this tournament...even in this match though India lost,Ganguly was the man-of-the-match for scoring a fantastic 96....Ganguly has 4 man-of-the-match awards out of 5 games in that tournament!!....the absence of both Wasim and Waqar helped India a lot though...
