Why do we still see vulnerability as a weakness, especially in men? In my latest conversation with Shahid Kapoor, we explored how embracing emotions, breaking gender stereotypes, and finding balance can redefine masculinity. What do you think it will take for society to fully accept this change?
@sanjunair6385Ай бұрын
the reason is we cannot be soft, because lot of challenges men face in day to day real life, if showcase ourselves are weak, we will be pounced upon. As a journalist, you might know, world harrases weak

Sensitisation on these topics is helpful. Talk more about men and okay being vulnerable. Nothing wrong in being human. Time to break the stereotypes that men are stronger sex. Men are human beings. There is no strength or weakness in genders. Everyone is a human. Be supportive of all gender types to form a thriving community of good people. Authentic people.

Reflecting the status-quo in a movie is fine, sure, pls do it. But the storyline, editing, effects added to that character make all the difference. For starters, show at least one voice in the movie which detests the character (if at all the director feels the character needs to be detested for its behaviour and actions) and don't show everyone being charmed by it. You can't show a villain with an amazing background score and everything and wash your hands off by saying "Oh, but it exists in the society". In your movie "Udta Punjab", I think that's what your character does- takes responsibility for his art which GLORIFIES violence and drug addiction and doesn't act naive by saying- "Oh, I can't make a judgment for others as that would mean I am putting myself on a pedestal. They will take away what they want to as adults." If the motive is to earn money by doing such films, pls go ahead and say that simply, no problem, I will understand but don't pretend or act naive.

I am baffled by how women can leave such positive comments about the same Kabir Singh they pounced on just a few years ago. Goes to show much of the political correctness is performative as long as the guy looks cute.
@superliveaction417Ай бұрын
Yeah bro , it's pretty privilege. Ranbir Kapoor is the biggest example of it . If any ordinary looking guy cheated on his girlfriend like he did , women would criticize him so much .But after cheating several times, women still like him ,even after doing movies like Animal.

Had me hooked until "men and women are fundamentally different".
@nithyarao6608Ай бұрын
But isn't that true? Maybe "fundamentally" might be a bit strong, but we are wired differently and equality doesn't have to mean that women have to become like men.
@TatopotatooАй бұрын
@@nithyarao6608 it isn't true. The exact opposite! Men and women are fundamentally similar but go on exhibiting external differences due to varying hormones, neuroplasticity, brain structure etc. However, how they behave, what their morals would be, what would shape their core, would be exactly similar had it not been for socialization and conditioning. There are several pieces of evidence - gender socialization studies, Stanford Prison experiment, Robber's cave experiment, Nature vs. Nurture study, etc. Bottomline, earlier everything _humans_ do is for survival and reproduction. Every decision can be linked to those two.
@evan3087Ай бұрын
@@nithyarao6608Fact is they can’t become like men and men can’t become like them. In terms of becoming a better human, both can work equally
