After hearing about the Shai Protesting incoming April 24th on Mediah1 at Heidel to Black Desert all about a Mob grinding and PVP rework but as for any of the other issues, do you feel they should be discussed or should the Shai Protest only involve combat and not lifeskilling? I think... people widely aren't opposed to the idea of a Shai lifeskill "buff"... I think it's just that this person happens to have a voice and only opinioned onto the PvE and PvP side of things, could be due to being tilted over the fact or even a little tunnel visioned, were human, we do that sometime... but this video surely will get seen and your side will be probably touched up on? In other words, thank you for informing me on this, as well, taking up the mantle of the other side / lifeskilling.

I saw someone in server chat say that shai should be able to ride berserker alts like horses. This should be the focus of the protest instead of mob clearing.

Thanks once again Teddy! Giving a voice to the lifeskill issue. I’m console, no winter region to do life skills in when other content creators moved all their people to it. Gave us a broken land of the morning light, no hunting on it and no sniper rifle. We get to watch content creators just so we can get more pissed off about what we may never get. Thank god all the money and effort goes into the crimson desert game. Ignore the game paying the bills. When crimson comes out and fails due to assassin creed making better. Maybe they will get back to us. Maybe they might get back to console only being 2weeks-2months behind in updates. Until then half hearted half fulfilled promises that may not even materialize. Grinding- come on guys it will be too slow to compete with faster classes. Make it better at lifeskill so when all you grinders are out there you can have the buffs or meals you want. If we are out grinding instead of gathering and making stuff the items you are accustomed to we ether not be there or cost you more. Thanks again Teddy!

As a semi new/returning player this is news to me. I watch BDO streams and youtube over the last month. Mostly people like BlueSquadren. But I've not heard anything about Shai's needing a buff. I've only heard the other side. That you 100% need a Shai for any PvP/PvE end game content cause their buffs and healing is just too good to pass up.

They're complaining ABOUT that. The Shai is tired of being nothing more than a "Buff NPC" for group content or only being good for group content. Idk theres more to it but people just want to grind oluns solo as a shai and able to 1v5 in pvp solo is the cliff notes

I understand the gripe with wanting to be able to grind and make money as a Shai but does it even matter once you're so far geared? Also I know I'm late to ask this. I've been on heavy overtime for a few months. What's the new way to get alchemy repair tools since they took seals out of the game from turning in boxes?

Seals are in the new Manage Currency option at the top of the screen and you can always make the Land of the Morning Light Tools in any tool workshop over on that island.

I'm not a Shai main but a lifeskiller main, so I'd appreciate just boosting lifeskills more in general. I don't understand why top end grinding is like 2B-3B an hour while lifeskilling is like half of that at 2k mastery. And why do some lifeskills not even use mastery?

I believe top end grinding having more income per hour is fair since there is a higher risk to it, not to mention it takes more attention and effort to grind end game spots. End game crystals being 800m-4b in cost. There is an active risk of losing money by grinding end game. Also I believe lifeskilling silver is fair at 2000 mastery. There are a lot of end game lifeskillers in the SEA server making 6-8B every 10 hours of semi afk alchemy. That's huge considering you can just do other things while your character prints money. The only downside to this I believe, is the market tax and the ever-fluctuating demand of items in the central market.

I would also like to point out that the shai with 2000 mastery made so much money that they are close to hard cap and joined a top tier siege guild with mostly lifeskill income. For PVE , they grind oluns solo with blue+agris 6-7k trash. I wouldn't call that bad at all

@Mafi_Cat yeah and when you look at what a mob grinder can do in those same 10hrs and its abysmal but that's not my fight. My only input is to fix all the glaring issues not just 25% of the problem with the class.. but really do you think PA will see anything lol

@TeddyTwighlite I just lost 3B grinding last night, wouldn't recommend long grinds as when you stop paying attention for even 10 seconds, you run the risk of death and losing money. This is why I believe it's balanced. One has risk and is hard to do for 10 hours straight, while the other requires planning and material prep but you can do it for as long as you want or have materials to do it, you also don't run a risk of losing your money. Although I'm glad you're looking at the big picture. I think an overall change is better than just focusing on one thing at a time. Here's hoping PA bothers to act. Been asking PA for music QoL for multiple balls (officially posted in there suggestion forum) . I guess MIDI is just dead and will never be supported, manual composing it is.

That might be interesting event. Im quite new to BD but still when i created Shai i was thinking about doing life skills on her. To be fair dont even want to go her for mob grinding. JUst want to enjoy my gathering and other life skills on that champ.

If there's gonna be a huge dance rave, can count me in. 🎶 Only use my Shai's for alchemy and gathering, though I would play Shai as a support if ever needed but that'd be a rarity. Likewise I'm indifferent to this, though if I'm on I may join in.

Yeah I'm gonna remain impartial to it, hell most the time anything to do with the Shai is ignored since PA regrets making the class lol I'll probably check it out to see whats going on and if anyone even bothers to show up

I do have the same issue with the Archer - that class never really worked by the concept it had in mind. The Shai is just on another level of this issue since she doesnt really have anything outside the concept. And because the concept is unique and it is not working, the deeper the character is in it the less outcome that we have. Same goes for succ Ranger. There is no ranged characters, there is no life skill characters, there is no support/healing characters. Everyone are just the same dps-dependant. And i've seen a couple of korean mmo's following this same rout. Basically it is too hard for some to balance diverse things like tank-heal-dps combo and as such we're getting all characters a melee dps in BDO

When you look at other MMO's you can see so many different examples of how they can do it or I guess we'll have to wait for Crimson Desert to see any issues really addressed (and yes I know its a single player game that took everything BDO and is making it better and working as it was originally intended) There's a lot of ways to get the Shai back to where she was but focusing only on PVE when its the only class for those who enjoy lifeskilling not min maxing meta playing kinda of player is gonna kill that whole aspect and drive players away but I guess we NOW know what PA is intending lol but aye we'll at least be able to 1v7 in pvp

I can see why they are focused on PvE, that system of progression works, the gear progression system works, there is reward for the cost of upgrading gear. Once you hit certain break points you can go to different grind spots and your silver/hr goes up. We don't really have that with life skills, beyond a certain point there is no reason to upgrade your gear. If we protest on the basis that life skills suck and they say yes, we agree... how long away would be changes? A year+? Even then we wouldn't be sure the new system would be better enough to matter so there is no certainty that what you ask for will make a difference. But I agree with you, I am happy with my Shai's PvE capability, if I want to PvE grind, I will use a different character. I understand why they are focusing on the PvE aspect, because it is a known system that works, it just isn't a path I think the Shai should go down. They aren't going to give us the QoL of PvE focused classes without taking away from other areas.

A bit more energy regeneration and a little more mobility would be great. I life skill unless I need to go get something. Extra energy regeneration would be great since I like to do gathering. Would like to see Shai get a little buff to life skilling but would rather see the system balanced better. I got 3 Shai, a Tamer and a Ranger for Life Skills.

I am a Shai player, I do agree with you about almost everything you mentioned. The worse suggestion I've heard to date is nerfing Shai Buffs and make Shai a PVP class in exchange for that buff, which I think misses the whole point of the class. Please don't ask for dumb things people, it's not one or the other and I don't support the protest because it means Shai is no longer a Shai. Just make it possible to 1v1 for our survivability sake with enough protections and damage to deter griefers. It doesn't have to be as strong as other duelist classes but make it viable in PVP and counter attacking. Don't touch anything else! Shai is supposed to be a support class! PVP/PVE Buffs are great! lower their cast time. They can fix up the PVE/PVP aspect to make it better. These idiots asking for wrong things defeats the purpose of Shai being a Shai. They shouldn't play Shai if they don't want to be a support class. In terms of lifeskills, the exp gain needs to be reworked. It is only useful at early game, it becomes useless after reaching higher mastery. It should be scaling to the life skill levels. Music should had only been reserved for Shai to be honest they are ruining the uniqueness of Shai by doing these things.

While i get what u're saying and i get its important, for me its the other way around: i made a Shai as an alt for the life skills buffs and for the family increased fame u get when making one and i realized, leveling 40 levels or so, that i really enjoy how she plays and i love the boomerang style fighting but since its trash in PvE i wont be touching her ever. I dont care about lifeskills, id prefer they make her grindable so i think PA shall work on both aspects cuz sayin "oh idc" about a specific aspect of it to me its wrong, ure not the only one playing the game. No toxic just fair criticism i enjoy ur content

As a PvP Shai Main. I think the pvp shais dont want a shai Remake. They want a proper PvP Support "Enchanter like" Class with Real skill expression. So i do. Optimize the Shai for lifeskills and release a New proper pvp/pve support class.

I'm not sure PA intended the Shai to just be a lifeskill class. They may not have known for sure what they wanted it to be. I remember them promoting it as a music class (with 3 instruments instead of the 1 Sol we ended up with), and also as a support class. Other times they seem to be making a role-playing class, with shais sitting backwards on their donkey and wandering around cities, not knowing how to ride horses yet. The life passives were included, but to me it looks like just another thing thrown into the design, not a clear role for the character. If there was a redesign, i'd like them to have a succ/awaken type choice at level 56 to be combat support or lifeskiller, with skill trees to help them in each role.

I honestly don't know what they're whining about. I'm 729 gearscore on my Shai and grind quite well with no issues. I fear that if PA touches Shai then they'll completely change the way she's played and I'll not enjoy her... Maybe they can just give her an Awakening to fix the "issue". As for PvP? Idgaf about that either personally because BDO PvP is the worst PvP I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing in any game. But if they *want* PvP fixed where they do full damage, I'm all for them getting that.

Yeah PA doesn't have the best track record with keeping the feeling of something. I don't care for pvp either but as for the talents they could be more offensive or feel better, it's too slow to switch and buff then jump back into a rotation.. every 30secs

You can't please everyone. Someone will always be bxtching at something. You don't PVE with Shai, that's fine but what about those that do? Does your opinion on the matter invalidate everyone else's? However, the same can be said for lifeskiller Shai's as well... but like I said, you can't please everyone. I do agree Shai's characteristic perk as a lifeskiller is no longer as strong as before since mastery is family wide now so they need to rework this class to stand out on it's own or at the very least, bring it to an even playing field with the other classes. One thing they need to fix is her fxcking SOL, give her a Blackstar already and let it be taggable without having to go through the Caphras bullshxt... but hey, that's just my opinion.
