This movie is a remake of the gujarati film VASH which is short for vashikaran. Had watched the movie in theatre and it is not a spooky film, its very very distrubing. Infact the film had a disclaimer that it is not for weak hearted or pregnent women. The original movie is outstanding, brilliant performances by everyone especially janki bodiwala. However seems like shaitan has taken it towarss being spooky have to watch the entirw film to know better, but the original concept of vashikaran shown in vash wqs totally perfect and on point. I think you should watch both vash and shaitan

This movie is a remake of Gujarati Movie "Vash" released in 2023. Janki Bodiwala reprised the same daughter's role Shaitaan too. Madhavan's role was carried out by "Hiten Kumar", a Gujarati actor. Both's performances brought the original movie to the level which Gujarati movie industry never achieved before. Further original movie is darker, and I believe it is darker that its Bollywood remake "Shaitaan". Original movie end is shocking and disturbing to the point one can lose sleep for couple of days if he or she is too sensitive. I believe this Bollywood remake should have toned down the darker element and changed the concept to entertain rather than original nuance.
