I love how she grabs Juliet's line at the end of the kiss "you kiss by the book" is Juliet's response

You'd think elizabethan England would be more outraged by the homosexual act of a man playing a woman, kissing another man, rather than simply a woman playing a woman on stage.

It bothers me so much that people I go to school to find this age and are during those times, and modern takes of it so poorly. I love this so much when we studied the renaissance, and we saw a clip from this movie for the dance section we got to learn. I loved this so much and appreciated anyone else who does as well. You have great taste if you just watched this video!

I love when he get jealous, he looks like something to say “whoa”, not right & let me.” That’s totally work out🥰 I wish there’s guy would do that, I love romance movies.

Fun fact! Jim Carter plays the actor playing the Nurse, while his wife Imelda Staunton plays Gwyneth Paltrow's actual nurse! There's got to be something deliberate in that.

There wasn't such a thing as "gay" then. They all had wives, then gay "friends" it was considered a worse thing to kiss a woman that belonged to another man.

i was thinking the exact same thing! Although some men had "fops" during that time period, which was their male "friend" who stayed the night when their wife was gone. and the wives were aware of what was going on but didn't think anything of it or that it was cheating.

Voldemort’s brother and Pepper Potts kissing together on stage at the London theater of Shakespeare. Lord Voldemort will not be happy to his brother who is dating a Muggle and and Tony Stark will use his Suit of Armor to protect his wife from that Dark Wizard and will strike Vengeance on the brother as well.

See, this is why people having affairs get caught : they can't resist their lustful urges enough to *not* makeout in semi-/public spaces, or restrain their jealousy while one or both are just doing their jobs. Love doesn't make people stupid. Being stupid (habitually) makes people stupid. It's a choice, or rather, a series of choices, usually revolving around a lack of patience and self-discipline even in pursuing their vices. . There actually are people who have decades-long affairs and don't get caught, or can't be proven one way or the other. For one example, if Elizabeth "Virgin Queen" the First who's in this very movie was having an affair, no one can prove it without a doubt, despite all the suspicions, despite all the obsessive watchful speculation centered on a royal much the same way we do nowadays about celebrities, despite all the years of study. It's called discretion and self-control. The simple desire not to be forced to give up their lover and/or life because they got caught, and so they exercise a little common sense.
