Shakespeare's First Folio at the National Library of Scotland

This year is the 400th birthday of The First Folio, the first printed edition of Shakespeare’s collected plays. The three publicly-held copies in Scottish collections are held by the National Library, University of Glasgow and the Mount Stuart Trust. In a jointly commissioned film narrated by Peter Capaldi, our Head of Rare Books, Helen Vincent, explores our copy and the continuing fascination of Shakespeare’s work.
