Wow! I'm thrilled! I'm on the west coast and just drinking my coffee and watching your video, starting the weekend, I go to leave a comment and what do you know, I see my name! I'm really liking "less" of all my products. I don't need to use concealer just because I'm wearing makeup. I do deal with dry, crepey skin that seems to be getting thinner! Less of every thing is best for me. When I'm done blending, I blend a lot more. Thank you for all your tips and suggestions, I use the tips and have bought quite a few of your suggestions and am so happy that I found your page. My next purchase will be the stansout beauty sponge! Thank you in advance for the sponge tip.

I agree about hair. I always had bangs for years and years and it looked beautiful. But I noticed as I got older, it started making me look older than I was, so I let them grow out. I think it's because it draws attention to your eyes, and when you start having circles or bags, that's emphasized too.
@HollyL562 жыл бұрын
@@katgirlblue it’s not a one size fits all so to speak. Reminds me of another one, that women of a certain age should cut their hair. These are outdated “rules” that many women believed for years and it’s kind of funny when you think about it. We are all different and what works for one may not another for various reasons... Having bangs and short hair may make one woman look younger and another woman with different features may look younger with no bangs and longer hair. Women need to find what works best for them. 👍😊

One thing I learned from a artist, is that getting rid of under eyeliner helps lift the eyes. Some years ago I had mine semi permanent lined and it never faded. I take an ivory pencil and go over that line to soften it and blend it in with a brush. Really good tips and you look great!

I never got compliments on my hair when I colored it. It's a gorgeous, dimensional, healthy platinum now (my hair's actual color) and it's healthy and vibrant. I read the book "Going Grey" and the author says that coloring does *not* make us look younger. You still look your age, only like you color your hair and often the color appears too harsh for our softening skin tones and thinner skin. She did a study where she showed people photos of the same person, with colored hair or grey hair (photoshopped) and folks still guessed very near the same ages or even guessed the colored-hair folks were OLDER! :)

Love these tips. I use most of them. Some great changes I made recently are eyeliner under the lash as opposed to above it is a game changer. Also, no liner on the lower lash line but instead use a darker eye shadow color. Really softens and looks more youthful. Blending foundation with tinted moisturizer/SPF is also great for lightening up the foundation.

Also, attitude is everything. You know how we talk to plants and animals? That’s how we need to talk to ourselves when we look in the mirror every day. Rather than being critical and feeling down about darker circles or new or deepening wrinkles which sends a message to all the cells of our bodies that they’re unwell, under performing or doing a poor job none of which is exactly motivating. Change your tone, acknowledge all the unique and wonderful attributes about yourself as often as possible then watch your face and body come to life.💖

I haven't changed much. I learned to tightline, use eyeshadow primer and bought tiny brushes to do my tiny eyes between ages 20-40 because my eyes are a bit more hooded now. My skin hasn't had too much hyperpigmentation, darkness or blemishes so I hardly used a lot of concealer and foundation over the years. One foundation and one concealer last me 2 years. My hair has always been a bit thin and lacklustre and fragile but Olaplex does help a lot! After using #0, #3 to #8 weekly for three months I did notice a significant difference. I'm still and will always be a bronzer and pinky brown lipstick person. Ages 20-40 my skincare has slowly changed. Moisturiser at age 18. SPF at age 25. Serum at age 30 and eye cream at age 35. I'm trying to see if I should use a chemical exfoliant or retinoid at age 40. Definitely should use more night cream.

To answer your question. The thing that I have found that really helps the look of my makeup. Is to give my moisturizer 15 to 30 minutes to absorb before putting my primer on. Then giving it about 10 minutes to set. Then I will very very lightly mist my face with either a hydrating mist or water. Sometimes in a pinch I'll use a hydrating setting spray before applying my makeup. I find I don't apply as much foundation. Plus I get a smoother look. And the foundation is not blending with the primer or the skin care. Plus is stays put better the entire day when I take more time with the whole process.

Hi Laura you do look younger now than in the pictures shown, but you were really pretty then too. The biggest change for me this year is azelaic acid. I have type one rosacea and was using an azelaic acid derivative for a couple of years to help with the redness. Changing to prescription 15% azelaic acid has made a big difference in the redness, but it has also really helped refine my pores. As a bonus my freckles look lighter and more uniform in size and pigmentation. I use it on alternate nights to my retinaldehyde and this is working really well for me. I use the G&G Agame 10 (0.1% retinaldehyde) and also the Avene physiolift eye product as my retinaldehydes. The physiolift eye is the only retinaldehyde eye product I have found that isn't £££££'s. The face version has some fragrance and my skin hates fragrance, so the Agame works for me on the face. I use the Agame 5 (0.05% retinaldehyde) on the neck and chest, which is also working really well for me. I used tretinoin for a couple of years, but the retinaldehyde is far less drying/irritating on my delicate skin - yet still gives me really good results. The combination of these two actives used on alternate nights has made a massive difference in my skin - it's firmer, more cushioned, plumper, smoother, less red, more even toned and my pores look more refined. My skin looks better now at almost 50 than it did in my early forties. I had my last period at 46, so I'm menopausal and yet my skin looks better now, so that's a real testament to how well this is working for me. I've never worn heavy foundation and really only started wearing it at all in my late thirties to disguise some of the redness. Prior to that a few dabs of concealer was all I used or a tinted moisturiser. I need some redness coverage, but still don't like a heavy foundation. I like the mac F&B in the colder months, but it slides right off in warm weather. Instead I use a light layer of the lancome teint idole in the warmer months, as it's fairly budgeproof. Best wishes.

@@landdesigner4195 I'm not sure if the CeraVe is made for the eyes. I can't put anything on my eyes that isn't made for the eyes. They itch and are sensitive and watery. For a long time eyeshadow used to make my eyes and eyelids itch but since using and eye cream, eye serum, eye SPF and eye primer, the itching has stopped. Those products create a comfortable barrier for me to care for my eyelids and enjoy makeup at the same time. I would also say see a dermatologist because something could be going on to cause the dryness. Hi Laura love your video. So many great suggestions and tips. I have had the Mac F&B for years and have used it on many of my mature clients. It does photograph well too. I have used in my hands too. Thanks to you I did purchase the sponge awhile ago and have been finishing all my makeup looks with it -fabulous! I also love the Danessa Myricks shadows. You look radiant my friend. Have a wonderful weekend xxoo😘😘

The Revlon cream shadows look so pretty.😍 I never used to do my brows at all until my mid fifties. Now I have to do them! Brows help frame the face so much. Have a great weekend, Laura Rae!
