Well this city's put me through the wash Mhmmm, I've been living here for you Well I used to take my women on the rocks Yeah, they used to wear out my ballroom shoes Well you know that I bought you many drinks Oh I found hope on your machine Well you didn't answer my request You left my whole world on your string Well that's your thing Well I see the words left on the screen Yeah, you know they're bursting just for me Well you know that I've known you since we were three Oh, we fell in love at seventeen Well so I say, what did I learn, what did I learn? I said, oh you learned me the heart Well your lies will burn in alcohol To sterilize the perfect parts Well at least that's a start

Roberto Hernandez Sounds more like I Had one too many drinks..I dont hear bought but i also cant really hear the Had eaither. Sounds like he goes from saying I to one too many drinks..leaves the had out. And left my whole world on your stream. It does sound like string...so..idk..could go eaither way.

Kara Burge no lie there! I just recently lost my wife from suicide because of guilt of unfaithfulness and this mans music and just watching him play, all the intense raw emotion, has helped me heal tremendously.

Heard this band on WGLT today on a show called "Q". Liked it. Really strange but entrancing enough for me to purchase a cd and maybe for ... my brothers, Tim and Todd would dig this sound!

Heard him on The Whole Wide World (NPR) and instantly loved the harmonies between him and Esme; also his ragged, jangly guitar tone.

Does anyone have the video of the performance of this song they did on Late Night with Seth Meyers? Easily the best rendition they did.

Dualtone Ordered the Vinyl bundle based on this comment. Didn't realize it was just a digital download of one song :( No full-album download after a $40 purchase?

chadillak The vinyl comes with a download card that you can use to download the full album - the one free track that you get when you order it is just an initial freebie!

Shakey graves isn't a band. He is one man. Sometimes has hired guns but he usually plays everything himself during live shows.

don't get me wrong i love the album and have been a massive fan for a long time, but one thing i will say is a lot of the songs on the the new album seam to over produced for my liking. i think the live recordings of the songs i heard pre-release were better due to there simplicity. even so it was an amazing album and this song is defiantly my favorite.
