I never knew her as Shakti. We met in Newport Beach, Souithern Californian when she was 22 and I was 24 and she was Carol Lousia Gwain, she went by Louisa. We fell in love and we lived together for a couple of years. This was in 1970. She lived with me during her college years. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Fine Arts. She litteraly got me out of going to Vietnam. I got drafted when we were together and she insisted that we go see a lawyer that specilized in getting men out of the draft. I would never had thought to do that if it was not for her. Anyway it worked and we were together for another year after that. Later after we broke up she got into the metaphysical world she was famous for. In her book about her life I am on a couple of pages known as Lawrence. We stayed in touch and visited each other a few times for many years after. She always had a good logical mind and she was a very kind person. I held her in high esteem then and thereafter always.

'Living In The Light' is my Bible. It changed every fiber of my being. Shakti served her purpose on Earth and then the spirit took her home. I'll miss her forever.

I believe it was about 1985 when I first read Living in the Light. It made so much sense then and still now in 2023! It really started me on a spiritual path and I’m so very grateful! Was sorry to hear she no longer walks this earth yet she certainly lives on in so many lives she touched! I loved seeing her in this interview and hearing her humility and sincere voice. Thank you.

I was listening to Abraham Hicks this morning, I was in a deep depression and alcoholism- but today I got up and cleaned, rearranged things. As I was taking out the garbage I went to bring the bin in, and as I looked down into the bottom of the bin, was her book, Creative Visualization. It sat alone in the remnants of the bin, bright yellow and hard to miss, glowing almost. I have been listening to her throughout the day today. A sign from the universe, no doubt. The universe and spirit and all else works in the most beautiful of ways. I thought about grabbing it, but figured I could just get a clean version haha. Thank you Shakti!

I was so sorry to learn of Shakti’s death. Her book Creative Visualisation literally changed my entire life. It was 1993 and I was 24 years old. I still have the same book, which I just pulled off the book shelf tonight when I decided to look up what she’s doing online. A lovely interview. Such a genuine human.

I bought and read and treasured all of her books in the early nineties, which are all in storage for now. At work I deal with 2nd hand books, and 2 of her books have appeared in the last week! - I've seen none in the last 7 years! So I was very interested to see this interview. Amazing lady.

I love this woman, she's so down to earth and believable, no hype, no trying to sell expensive workshops and an incredibly simple explanation for how to get in touch with your intuition, as opposed to lengthy lectures that make it all sound so complex and unachievable. I laughed out loud when she answered the question about ageing Love you Shakti

When I was kid growing up in NY, my mom gave me Creative Visualization by S.Gowain. Since I was a kid I didn't know how to use it. I didn't realize what I was learning , there is a right way and wrong way to visualize. As I got older into my late 20s I didn't realize I was visualizing my own accident until it manifest. Since then I used to positively. I still use today 40 years later because it works.

Shakti did not start developing Lewy Boy Dementia symptoms until the first half of the 2010s, so your source hat said she'd been ill since the 90s was incorrect.
