This video is very helpful especially for me a blind person; the way you explain or describe the poise is very clear and easy to understand. Thank you.

Komi-buki! It's difficult to tell the difference if it's coming from the hara/diaphragm or my throat.

Thanks Shawn. Even professional athletes work daily on the basics such as keeping one's hands forward for a baseball player.

Been mindful of posture since you posted this video. There's been several notable benefits. I am pleased to see an improvement in my vibrato. I have a tendency to cheat and use breath vibrato. With better posture pitch vibrato is much easier. As always, thank you again.

Excellent ! I feel theres a direct link between posture, attitude and emotions, so in a way when changing one the other also changes

Great lesson buddy, my preference is always to stand with one foot forward, though i tend to sway as i play, yet i don't loose the tones too badly, it's a habit i need to curb.

Do you play right handed or left? Which hand is on bottom?
@Whiskey0880
@Whiskey0880 3 жыл бұрын
@@TairyuShakuhachi i play with the left hand closest to my face, right foot forward. Yet i don't really have a dominant hand, i write with my right hand and play guitar with it, throw with my left, from stones to darts, though racket sports is right handed 😂 while i play football with my left foot. Multi coordinated or some such thing 😂

Please would you do a video explaining how to make that vibrating, throbbing kind of sound i keep hearing and that I love. I have tried so many times and ways a s just cannot work it out. Also I really struggle to get up an octave to kan. I don't know if that is my bad technique, or if it is the flutes capabilities? I am fairly new to the Shakuhachi so still very early days for me. But I am totally in love with the instrument and everything about it an your videos are awesome. Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge.
