Shakuhachi Modes and Scales, Session 2: The Ura-joshi Modes.

Building on Sesson 1's discussion of the evolution of Hon-choshi, we continue on to the other modes.- Yu-gure, Akebono, Kumoi, and Taikyoku / Okiri. Yu-gure and Taikyoku were not used very often, but the Akebono mode is often nested within Hon-choshi pieces. Kumoi is most often used in shishi, or lion dance pieces.
