This is a really, really tough fight for Shakur. Pure boxers always have trouble with strong, awkward volume guys... And Shakur's biggest vunerability is his low punch output - he falls into the trap Mayweather did at times where he become overly defensive and lose rounds as a result. A guy like Zepeda also neutralizes his biggest strength, being his control of distance (Shakur the master of this), just through pure workrate and relentless pressure. I'm leaning Shakur by narrow decision - and I think to win he needs to lift to another level. We've seen all the talent and boxing IQ, but I'm yet to see a fight where he is forced to really push out of his comfort zone.

Acid test for both Zepeda and Shakur. Zepeda has the stylistic advantage: Pressure fighters usually beat pure boxers. Shakur is elite defensively but is he an elite all-around pure boxer? Will he have enough offense and enough pop on his punches to keep a volume puncher like Zepeda off of him for 12 rounds? Shakur’s not really a prolific counter puncher so I’m leaning towards a Zepeda late stoppage.

Sure, Shakur can stay in front of almost ANY opponent provided that there is plenty of space behind him and around him to run away in. No large 22 ft by 22 ft Las Vegas style-rings for Shakur to runaway in.
