You should try pouring colored resin around the drops, like half way up. Let that cure. Next color the raindrops with whatever and then pour another layer of whatever resin you choose. Just to see if it creates more depth. Or different depth.

To prevent ruining molds could you do a thin layer of resin ( letting it cure) then add the raindrops and continue. Yes it’s a long process but would this prevent damage to molds from the alcohol inks

Also, I’m thinking if you were to use a translucent mold instead of a colored mold with the uv resin, you might not ruin the mold… im Thinking that the heat of the uv lamp and the prolonged time needed to cure the uv resin on the colored mold is what caused the accidental ruined mold… that would be my guess… I do think they turned out really neat though! I will try this tomorrow and see how it works… I have a trashed translucent coaster mold that to can use to see if duplicating your actions sans the colored mold, yields the same results on the translucent mold…
@carolstewart1704
@carolstewart1704 Жыл бұрын
The alcohol inks dye the molds 🥰 but they shouldn't transfer to new pieces so the mold is still ok to use😊 the only problem of the non translucent mold and the uv resin, is that the uv resin has a difficult time curing bc it cannot be touched all over with the uv light (if that makes sense? 😅) If it was a clear mold she could cure fm the bottom of the mold as well and they would've cured better.. I have also noticed.. even when I use a clear mold and cure dots of uv resin and then do a pour of epoxy, sometimes the uv resin gets soft (seemingly uncured) again.. so I try to use only clear molds so that once the epoxy is cured I can put the uv light on it again before demolding just to be sure everything is good to go! 🤗💕 Hopefully that has helped someone!! 🥰🥰
@ZippedUpKitz
@ZippedUpKitz Жыл бұрын
@@carolstewart1704 yes, when I do uv resin I always hit it with the light again after I demold just to make sure the light gets everywhere… that was the problem the lady at pouring your heart out had… she didn’t cure the uv resin all the way through… she used a so,I’d mold and so the light didn’t get all the way through and when she poured the epoxy over the dots, the bottoms of the coasters dots were not fully cured of epoxy over them all-and instead of hitting he dots with the uv light, she just put a top coat over them all… uv resin is tricky and it has a steep learning curve to get it to cure correctly… it also had to do with what uv resin you are using…
