Keep doing this work Joseph. You're killing it with this stuff.

Thank you! There’s low interest in the fullrange driver stuff but I’m mainly doing it for myself. I enjoy a well designed fullrange setup. Most single driver solutions I’ve heard are pretty bad sounding which I suspect is why there’s limited interest in the market.

Very cool design. Thank you for pointing this out to me on your website. There is definitely something to that point source design and probably that step response of a single driver. I've been chasing the sound I had from Lii Aduio F15 full range driver in an open baffle for years now. It had the craziest depth and imaging I've ever heard but it was definitely a head in a vice speaker, and I eq'd the crap out of it with a mini DSP and crossed it to subs at 80hz. I thought I would fall in love with some keff q100's for this reason since it was coaxial in design but they didn't wow me.

I would say 9/10 full range driver designs are just bad sounding. Designing a good one is like walking a tight rope. If done successfully then it can sound better than any 2-way/dome tweeter/woofer configuration. I've been doing fullrange driver designs for 23 years now and I'm still working through it! But 1928 is the best yet, even compared to anything else I've heard as a single driver.

don't you think you can remedy or even do better by making a tighter fit on the markaudio cone since there's no surround to hit it?

This is touched upon early in the video but I don't know if this exact aspect is circled back around to - how does the shallowness / depth of the horn relate to its response or performance? I've always been curious about this but it's hard to get a firm grasp on it.

Thank you for the question. I will circle back to this in another video. I want to feature the complete speaker design. I also realize I did not fully explain the reason for the clean step response.
