On this field, I sowed oil radish in the wheat stubble after harvest. EU regulations say you can not break the cover before jan 1st, so I have been waiting for the right moment. Sunday jan 23 was perfect, good frost to carry the tractor, but enough thaw in the day to give me some tilth. The crossboard did a good job breaking the straw and the crosskiller disc did its intensive shallow work.
Wheat stubble is now down where the microbes can start their job, and both weeds and cover got a setback.
In the spring one or two runs will make it ready for sowing beans.
