I'm so glad Spitfire Audio is having a 50% campaign for "Studio Strings", because it led me to find the master of Sample Library reviews! You are very impressive Cory! You manage, more than anyone else, to make any sample library sound as good as it can performance-wise, and you seem to have a proper grasp on composition, so you're able to show short but proper examples of all styles, instead of... well, let's not go there. It means that every library gets a fair shake, so the short-coming can be put into proper perspective. I hope you'll do many more videos, and on any subject you like!

Thanks for showing us all this. I have almost everything Project Sam' makes. All I can say' to those who haven't purchased a lot of their stuff (compared to other software) is, they always seem to be over-priced' compared to the competition, and they always include sounds that I would NEVER use. Having said that', I accept the higher price for Project Sam' software (like Swing! More) because the realism is almost always there. They create presets that are musically-friendly to work with. Yes, they never seem to go on sale' so we're stuck with paying more. Their True Strike 2 library is a great example of this love-hate relationship. It has everything I'll never use on my musical works recorded at the highest quality' so on the surface' I say to myself: I'm not interested in that. But Project Sam' also included one of their Dystopia' libraries on it (which are incredibly useful to me). So I think they saw that Ethnic percussion is not very sought-after by most customers - so they added something to get you to open up your wallet and buy it. It's this type of business practice' that Project Sam is doing to maintain our attention.

Awesome review as always. I'm curious, what would be your go to library for "jazz scoring"
@CoryPelizzari3 жыл бұрын
I don't really do much jazz scoring but libraries I think are awesome for jazz vibe are the Premier Sound Factory libraries, Session Horns Pro and from what I've seen, Birth of the Trumpet.

if you had to pick swing or swing more as a beginner user which would you say? it's a higher price is that because it includes what swing does plus more?? or is it more of add on?

@Cory Pelizzari By the way, really want to know your opinions on the Fable Sounds Broadway Lites 2.0 library which is also on sale right now (at VSTBuzz). How do you compare the Swing! Bundle with that library? Thanks.

Very cool Enter the Dragon stuff! Do you think this would be a good choice for that sort of 1970s funky, jazzy scoring? I don’t do traditional big band stuff, but I’m looking for a good extensive library that can cover funky, jazzy stuff from 1950s-70s, but particularly jazz-funk.
@CoryPelizzari4 жыл бұрын
This is pretty much made for that type of thing. Other libraries that can enhance your palette are Double Cream Drums from Loops de la Creme, Scarbee Funk Guitarist and Blue Street Brass from Indiginus Samples.

I wouldn't say need, but they would definitely help. I'd say try out what you have first and if you feel there's a gap that this library can fill, then pick it up.
