Wonderful presentation which lead to a purchase! How would you approach creating a template just for Albion Neo?
@inspisiavideos85422 жыл бұрын
After weeks of having Albion Neo sitting on my external hard drive I finally used it. I was working on other libraries I got! Would you compose something as a sample to use it? It has so many files that it’s a bit hard to choose files to make a combination, because I would want something simple with not too many sounds in one composition.

I was going to buy symphonic strings next, but this has changed my mind. My only concern is having a lot of the same in Albion 1. I don’t want to pay for Step steam band, Brunel loops ect, already have in Albion 1. Wonder how Spitfire compensates for this?
@TuzXMr3 жыл бұрын
They are different loops/synths it’s just the name of that section for the series

I've got both Studio Strings Pro and Chamber Strings and I think Neo is still pretty useful, especially for sketching string parts and getting more moving string parts.
@ronnyb58904 жыл бұрын
did'nt spitfire have a proprietary player?,seems they've returned to kontakt,great that you did a review cory,thought it was only a string library
@CoryPelizzari4 жыл бұрын
Nobody likes their garbage player, lol.
@BluemountScore4 жыл бұрын
All the other Albions use Kontakt... that's probably why they decided this way
@chrismassa58914 жыл бұрын
@@CoryPelizzari I asked Paul how Spitfire decides which player to use. Paul said they use their player when there are "things" Kontakt can't do. Not quite sure what that means.
@CoryPelizzari4 жыл бұрын
@@chrismassa5891 It means that there are certain things that are easier to script in a custom engine, but that in itself never means the engine is better or more suitable. Spitfire's engine isn't anything special and it's optimised for Macs so it's just not a good platform overall. OT's SINE Player is infinitely better.

quickly! (/^-^)/ introduce Sound with a quiet and calm, there are many weak sound of Attack? It seems that there are many patches, but isn't it suitable for intense music?

It's more for pensive and slow cinematic music. For intense stuff you want Albion One and Iceni.

@Aedhon3 жыл бұрын
Hi, intense review! I am a bit torn between this and Olafur Arnalds Chamber Evolutions as a next purchase, have you tried that and what do you think? Given they seem to have a similar atmosphere, I get the feeling Chamber Evo might be more of a one trick pony (long sustained notes with a variety of frills on top), but it does sound great. What's your view?
@CoryPelizzari3 жыл бұрын
I always go for sampled instruments rather than phrases and beds, but that's just me.
@Aedhon3 жыл бұрын
@@CoryPelizzari thanks for your reply. yes I fear that would be a bit limiting, plus I see that in your custom patches and in segla textures you do get some nice "evolutions" anyway. So I'm inclined to think that I would get some more "personal" results by mixing up my own patches, or just adding layers.
@Aedhon3 жыл бұрын
@@CoryPelizzari Hi again, I found out your other excellent videos about Spitfire Studio Strings. Now I wonder, if price wasn't really the issue, would you go for Neo or the Studio Orchestra? I wonder if with Studio Orchestra you could get similar "nordic" atmospheres, by using the extensive articulations they provide and orchestrating the instruments individually, or if you think that Neo still stands as a valid alternative. There's also Spitfire Chamber Strings of course..so the other question is, dry sound or wet sound?
@CoryPelizzari3 жыл бұрын
@@Aedhon I think Albion is better as an overall songwriting tool. Studio Orchestra requires a lot more knowledge and tweaking to get the best out of it (same with Chamber Strings). So I'd start with something like Neo or Albion One and then go for the bigger libraries later for adding details or making more complex songs from sketches you've made with the all-in-one library first.
@Aedhon3 жыл бұрын
@@CoryPelizzari thanks, you're probably right. I have Albion One, it's good but the strings sound too big so i can't really fit them in in what I do. That's why I'm scouting around!

I have a feeling this is repackaged Albion II. Thoughts?
@CoryPelizzari4 жыл бұрын
More like repackaged Tundra. But it's better than Tundra so I'm fine with that. Loegria has a much darker and delicate sound whereas Neo can be used in more general compositions.

honestly i don't think its fair to compare this to Tundra, while i will agree the loops in Neo a far superior, Tundra aesthetic really is different, face value may suggest that they are similar, but Tundra is in reality a massive sound played extremely softly, while Neo is just a chamber orchestra with an Icelandic touch. Tundra is Skyrim while Neo feels more like the witcher. (When comparing the soft compositions of each game). the spotty sampling is honestly aesthetically consistent with was Tundra is, i mean if this same spotty sampling appeared in a standard library (Cough, Cough, BBCSO).... then yeah i would be upset.

Thanks for. a really good review, and spending so much time going through a lot fo the sounds, really appreciate it. This seems like a great library. Some of your comments are regarding some of the other Albion libraries are interesting, we need to recognise though, each Albion is for a different purpose, that's why there's 5 of them, so yes they all have different things to offer. Christian Henson's video about each of them explains this pretty well , you can find it here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGGzlYCnj9SFhck Thanks again for taking the time to make such an interesting video. Take care, stay safe best wishes Terry
