You mention Francis MacNutt. He left the Catholic priesthood and it seems he became an Episcopalian. Did the Holy Spirit tell him to do that?

He wanted to be a married priest. You have free will to ignore the Holy Spirit. That doesn't void his work.

I am not sure how some Priest can obtain permission to married, but I hear few Catholic Priests are married. Its sad, when a Priest left his Vocation.
