Congratulations to u that u found your truth. However u have no right whatsoever to be known as sardar ji and wear a turban. These thing were bestowed upon Sikhs by the 10th guru Guru Gobind Singh. By rejecting the guru and his teaching it’s frankly disrespectful to Sikhs that you maintain the fit of a Sikh and appropriate the Sikh turban.

Christians have worn turbans even before Rome Empire. It has been a rooted tradition in the Arabic Peninsula, North of Africa and south of Portugal and Spain through the Middle Age, before the expelling of muslims from europe on XIIIth century. The turban became very political in India because it was used as a symbol of resistence of the Sikhs between both the British colonizers and the hindu repression. This not to mention the use of turbans that was also developed on native american people and the use of turban by women on subsaarian Africa. There is not a culture or religion that can claim to itself the exclusivity of turbans.

@@BorbaColen yes this is absolutely true. However the context and style of which this man wears the turban is inherently a Sikh style, thus meaning he is seen to be representing Sikhs and Sikh ideal. The type of Christian turban is more similar to the Arab style. This is cultural and religious appropriation at its finest and is frankly an insult to Sikhs. The turban is dearer than life to a Sikh. Seeing it used in such a way is painful to watch and frankly is offensive. The amount of blood spilt just so Sikhs can wear their turban is immense. My opinion would be acceptable by the majority of the Sikh community. You are in no position to tell a whole community or world religion that they are wrong.

This is the problem with Indian mixed culture/religion.. This guy is a Christian but still has some of his sikh kakkars.. Gur toy bamukh remove the Singh from your last name, as you are no longer or ever were a sikh. Hindus in India are visiting Hindu temple, praying in churches and praying in sikh place of worhship, not sure what is happening..

Singh is originally a Hindu name which adresses Ksatriya Hindu people? By this Sikhs have no right to lay claim on a Hindu name. Wearing turban is not specific to Sikhs people in the Indo region and middle east have always weared turbans. The reason why some Hindus visit Church or Sikh temple is due to tolerance and respect.
