‘Shameful day for our nation’: Nationals Senator slams live sheep export ban

Nationals Senator Matt Canavan says it is a “shameful day” for Australia following the live sheep export ban passing the Senate.
Legislation to end live sheep exports by 2028 had been hotly debated in a late-night session in Canberra, with the bill passing the Senate.
“This is the first time that I can find in our history that we have made a certain type of farming illegal,” Mr Canavan told Sky News Australia.
“This government has made a type of farming a criminal act.”

No one, not even your worst enemy deserves to endure what these live export sheep go through, seriously for one moment put yourself in their position and see how utterly disgusting this industry is before making such poorly thought out comments.

So you have personally witnessed the conditions, and the apparent torture which occurs on these sheep. This guy, is not in any way personally benefiting from live export. And what happens now to the thousands of people out of work. You seem supportive of this destruction of one of WA’s biggest industries. What is your plan to replace the MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OF INCOME to not just WA the entire country. I have never been in support of live export, but now what! This country is truly on the rats arse, losing industry left right and centre. What replaces it.
