You could watch the original Shameless made in the UK. The American version followed that one for the first few seasons. FYI James McAvoy was in it as Steve and his first wife Anne-Marie Duff was Fiona. The thing about the American version is they stuck with the central Gallagher family and the UK version didn’t as much throughout the series only Frank was the constant.

It is so sad that we never gonna see this much "natural life-like" tv series again. We will just go back to those cheap shitty Netflix series :( Theres only one thing that I can say about you guys... We all felt the characters' life. We bonded with them in a strange way. I was 20 when I started watching this seriesi now I became a 31-year-old woman who grew up with the show. This is the kind of series finale I love, the ones where "life goes on." these people are still alive, still getting into trouble, still causing trouble. My one hope was to actually get Emmy back but I enjoyed that they included her in some way. I hope we get a reunion special or a movie. Maybe 5 years from now, see how the passing of Frank has affected the family.

Thank you Shameless. Well i guess this is how it ends I discovered the show very late, about several weeks ago. But i'm just as sad as old watchers. Thank you for the inspiration. I learnt many things from the show. I'd like to give a special thanks for Noel and Cameron for the wonderful dynamic roles. As a gay man, you guys inspire me to fight through the hardships. Especially with the conservative standards here. I saw myself but i was never shameless enough to break the walls and do whatever the hell i want. Now everything seems easier. Theres a newfound bravery i got from the show Good job for all the actors making this show possible. Beautiful eleven years both for the fanbase and the cast. I really can't believe that it's over! I've never been so sad for a tv show to end! I wish the best for everyone involved with this special series and I have the hope that it will return like other shows have been doing, except I hope that it doesn't wait 20 years! I'm already watching it from the beginning again and I would subscribe to any other channels that continued the show no matter what because I only got showtime added to my account so I could see Shameless and there's so many things that are left to our imaginations that there are still many more shows left and tons of us who would continue to watch each and every second of the new episodes! I feel so lost without them. I wanted Carl to get a good girl and Ian to get to be a good father and prove that Mickey has it in his heart to be a great dad because of the influence of his and Ian's love, and so many more things that I'm sure others have mentioned in their comments as well.
