Shamima Begum, who fled the UK and joined the Islamic State group when she was a teenager, was smuggled into Syria by an intelligence agent for Canada.
Ms Begum was 15 when she and two other east London schoolgirls travelled to Syria to join the IS group in 2015.
Files seen by the BBC show he claimed to have shared Ms Begum's passport details with Canada, and smuggled other Britons to fight for IS.
Ms Begum's lawyers are challenging the removal of her British citizenship, arguing she was a trafficking victim.
Canada and the UK declined to comment on security issues.

Lets get to the root of the problem. In Brazil, no kid under the age of adulthood is allowed to travel without parental permission, nor is one parent allowed to take a child out of the country without the other parent's consent. A lot of non- custodial parents have snatched kids in the past. I was at the airport when a mom tried to snatch a kid to Spain, the dad was called, he had no idea. If the age of adulthood is 18, then Britain could copy, Brazil to prevent this type of thing, and kid smuggling. However if an adult should leave for nefarious reasons , they should loose their British citizenship. Begum should return home, she was still a child under the law when she left, otherwise lets allow a 6 yr old to leave as well, and scrap the age of adulthood

What else do you fall it when adult men prey on a 15 year old child online, convincing her to abandon her family and into a war zone, paying for her flights to Istanbul, then as soon as she gets to Syria, marrying the 15 year old girl off to a grown adult. I can’t believe an institute such as the BBC has gone ahead and made a 10 part podcast series, airing on BBC4, dedicated to this woman where she’s able to speak freely and at length to plead her case? It’s outrageous. If they wanted to cover her story more in-depth as a one off documentary to present all of the findings, which demonstrate how and why she still poses a threat to national security and the Great British public that would make sense, but giving her a voice and platform on this scale what will that achieve? Honestly had it been Netflix I don’t think it would have been received quite so badly, but because it’s the “ethical” BBC it kind of rubs salt further into the wounds, created by ISIS terror, that will never heal within British society. Imagine paying a licence fee to the BBC as a family member of one of those murdered at the Ariana Grande concert and one afternoon you turn on BBC4, only to hear her complaining about her life? I’m not rubbishing the journalistic talent of the person responsible for this but I do question their intent, whether they were in fact chasing clout rather than a story? Let’s face it, the mere mention of her name has people irate, rightly so, and the story dominates headlines for days globally. The BBC were foolish to entertain it, between them they got this one very wrong. I personally can’t remember the last time I sought out something the BBC had created to watch or listen to. I don’t think people have the same respect or interest in the broadcaster in the U.K. or over seas as they once did. Their loyal following tends to be the older generation, people who have lived through and fought wars, viewers who’ll certainly be incensed and turned off by this creation.p

As part of the false flag operation, a group of Egyptian Jews was recruited by Israeli military intelligence to plant bombs inside Egyptian, American, and British-owned civilian targets, cinemas, libraries, and American educational centers. The bombs were timed to detonate several hours after closing time. The attacks were to be blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian Communists, “unspecified malcontents” or “locals” and “nationalists” to create a climate of sufficient violence and instability to induce the British government to retain its occupation troops in Egypt’s Suez Canal zone. The operation caused no casualties, except for operative Philip Natanson when a bomb he was taking to place in a movie theater ignited prematurely in his pocket; for two members of the cell who committed suicide after being captured; and for two operatives who were tried, convicted and executed by Egypt. The operation ultimately became known as the Lavon Affair after the Israeli defense minister Pinhas Lavon, who was forced to resign as a consequence of the incident. Before Lavon’s resignation, the incident had been euphemistically referred to in Israel as the “Unfortunate Affair” or “The Bad Business”. After Israel publicly denied any involvement in the incident for 51 years, the surviving agents were officially honored in 2005 by being awarded certificates of appreciation by Israeli President Moshe Katzav.

Children often need to fly alone, especially if you need to see parents who live abroad or family. This has nothing to do with the minimum flight age and everything do with a failure of intelligence.

@@deidradahl2802 Not regardless of age, they set a limit at the airline companies. Many of them are say 12 or 14 for those alone, and others offer a minor accompanying service onboard. No, if you are flying alone and have the relevant documents, you can pass through security alone. Customs are only when you arrive in a country. If the host country has no concerns with your presence then you are admitted.

well technically if she managed to set foot on british soil they couldn't deport her because shes stateless she would be held in a immigration detention center i assume they could still use her birth registration to facilitate her naturalisation. but she would have to be smuggled in by boat and apply for asylum.

She wasn't groomed as she stated in one of her first interviews how she planned it with telling people they were going on holiday, also its all about getting her back on English soil ounce here guilty or not you won't get her out wich is why people keep saying she should be able to fight her case in this country. This is the 21st century let her defend her right via zoom meeting. Also if she's been stripped of citizenship should we be paying any legal aid,she does not need to be in this country to put her case forward.her crimes if there is any we're committed in Syria the only crime here is treason

Common sense and judgement are things which cannot be taught. Why do you think there is PG13 on some shows or reports? it's because kids minds are still not fully developed. Also the no of kids who follow TikTok and hanged themselves. When Begum left the country, she was under the age of adulthood, BY LAW, on the books. If we think she should be treated as an adult then we should lobby the government to lower the age of consent. If a criminal commits a crime at the age of 15 and is caught when he is 40, the crime will still be judge as a juvenile. Even murders get reprieve. Begum should come home and be rehabilitated. Now we are afraid she might terrorize us. We from the west, especially the USA and the UK, started this terrorism. We spent billions to arm and train these men from the middle east, in order to steal their resources, or do regime change, Who gave us that right? These ''''terrorists''' see themselves as Resistance fighters. If you are walking along, and someone grabbed your phone, or your ATM card, would you not resisted? Then the criminal would turn on you, and would call YOU a terrorists'' So many commenters are reasoning just like you, but ONE fool makes many

Lavon Affair? The Lavon Affair refers to a failed Israeli covert operation, code named Operation Susannah, conducted in Egypt in the summer of 1954.

If she was groomed she would of spilled the beans at the start of her capture... Bro she left for a cult who thinks that the sun sets in a muddy spring and goes under the throne of Allah at night.. Also she would of been groomed in UK by another Brit if that was the case and would never left .. Also she wasn't groomed because in a interview she stated she met her husbands AFTERWARDS and had the opinion to pick which guy she wanted... If she was groomed she would of met her first husband online and would of known him b4 hand .. Also if she was groomed on social media/internet there would be proof, but from my understanding she would watch IS videos and openly supported IS at her school.. Only possible way she was groomed is if she saw one of the killers in a IS video and feel in love by that person looks alone and lawlessness and thought i want to marry im going to look for him to marry

If Shamima was groomed for sexual abuse at 15, then everyone would be outraged and attacking the predator. However in this case, she was groomed and trafficked as a 15 year old by an intelligence agent, and all of a sudden no one cares about her age and vulnerability at the time but attacks her ruthlessly. As Malcolm X proclaimed: The media has the power to make the victim the perpetrator and the perpetrator the victim.
