Shamima Begum, who fled the UK and joined the Islamic State group when she was a teenager, was smuggled into Syria by an intelligence agent for Canada.
Ms Begum was 15 when she and two other east London schoolgirls travelled to Syria to join the IS group in 2015.
Files seen by the BBC show he claimed to have shared Ms Begum's passport details with Canada, and smuggled other Britons to fight for IS.
Ms Begum's lawyers are challenging the removal of her British citizenship, arguing she was a trafficking victim.
Canada and the UK declined to comment on security issues.

Lets get to the root of the problem. In Brazil, no kid under the age of adulthood is allowed to travel without parental permission, nor is one parent allowed to take a child out of the country without the other parent's consent. A lot of non- custodial parents have snatched kids in the past. I was at the airport when a mom tried to snatch a kid to Spain, the dad was called, he had no idea. If the age of adulthood is 18, then Britain could copy, Brazil to prevent this type of thing, and kid smuggling. However if an adult should leave for nefarious reasons , they should loose their British citizenship. Begum should return home, she was still a child under the law when she left, otherwise lets allow a 6 yr old to leave as well, and scrap the age of adulthood

I can’t believe an institute such as the BBC has gone ahead and made a 10 part podcast series, airing on BBC4, dedicated to this woman where she’s able to speak freely and at length to plead her case? Lavon Affair? The Lavon Affair refers to a failed Israeli covert operation, code named Operation Susannah, conducted in Egypt in the summer of 1954. As part of the false flag operation, a group of Egyptian Jews was recruited by Israeli military intelligence to plant bombs inside Egyptian, American, and British-owned civilian targets, cinemas, libraries, and American educational centers. The bombs were timed to detonate several hours after closing time. The attacks were to be blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood, Egyptian Communists, “unspecified malcontents” or “locals” and “nationalists” to create a climate of sufficient violence and instability to induce the British government to retain its occupation troops in Egypt’s Suez Canal zone. The operation caused no casualties, except for operative Philip Natanson when a bomb he was taking to place in a movie theater ignited prematurely in his pocket; for two members of the cell who committed suicide after being captured; and for two operatives who were tried, convicted and executed by Egypt. The operation ultimately became known as the Lavon Affair after the Israeli defense minister Pinhas Lavon, who was forced to resign as a consequence of the incident. Before Lavon’s resignation, the incident had been euphemistically referred to in Israel as the “Unfortunate Affair” or “The Bad Business”. After Israel publicly denied any involvement in the incident for 51 years, the surviving agents were officially honored in 2005 by being awarded certificates of appreciation by Israeli President Moshe Katzav.

Samrat. Thanks for mentioning Operation Susannah. But they are very different. Operation Susannah (Lavon Affair) was purely planned & executed by Israel unlike the story here. Here the smuggling was already taking place before and after the smuggler walked into the embassy. But thanks for mentioning the old story ! Respect
