Oisín and Niall headed down to Dublin to sample the biggest game in the league of ireland.
Shamrock Rovers vs Bohemians.
As always, we have recorded our journey, spent our own money, and have produced an authentic father and son night at the footy.
The shamrock rovers ultras told me they didn’t want me filming their section.
The shamrock rovers ultras had English vlogger Thogden in their section. Go figure 🤷🏻‍♂️

For Rovers it showed early on that the result was more important than the overall performance/entertainment factor due to losing two in the first 4 against potential rivals for the title. Also, early in the season, still finding out teams and how to lineup against each other. Very rarely will you see a classic Rover's v Bohs game in a football sense, the object of these games is the win

Good vlog, brought here by your fairly negative tweet though. Not sure what you expected from a Dublin derby. Two teams that don't want to lose makes for a tight game. Fair play to you for coming down, hope you can return mid season to see if you have a better experience

The tweet is just my honest opinion man. People had built the game up to be the game you have to go to. Similar to glens vs blues. I just expected a better spectacle. Also pissed off as out of respect I messaged the ultras prior to the game and they told me they didn’t want to be videoed yet your man thogden is in the middle of them.

Athmosphere is far better than NIFL games in my opinion. You werent close enough to capture it in the video. Would love to see all island league in future though. Would b some noise at linfield vs st pats etc

Check todays media reports about how Dublin City Council are to help 3 clubs here Bohemian FC.St Patricks Athletoic,and Shelbourne finally get their ground redevelopments on track after years of false promises,setbacks from gov(St Pats ill fated attempts 2 years ago to build a brand new stadium),and nonsense(gov plans to house Bohs and Pats in new look Dalymount)which will not now happen,Instead plans to help all 3 redevelop and renew their grounds

You won't see a good quality rovers and bohs game though, they're always scrappy. It's more either team trying to not lose than play good football.

@@hellsbollocks8833 like everything in ‘our wee country’ we are stuck in the past. Every club would have to agree off the record with ifa/nifl that fines wouldn’t need to be paid. In LOI apparently they only collect fines when they damage things from them.

To be honest I was left a wee bit disappointed. It wasn’t a great game, I wasn’t able to capture the atmosphere the way I would have liked either. In the usual vlogs I can usually get a good feel of the atmosphere but last night I couldn’t due to a few things. Anyhow, I’m happy enough that I got to experience it. Been told the atmosphere is better in the derby at Bohs.
