Spike is 100% right about Joel needing to be in better shape but the caller was 100% right about leadership ultimately being subjective to results. MJ punched teammates in the face but he won so it’s fine. Draymond has assaulted multiple players on other teams and even one on his own but is still seen as a major voice and leader in GS because they won 4 titles . Also historically superstar big men specifically (Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem etc) are known to be moody and aloof at different points in their careers partly due to lack of relatability imo. It’s just always going to be hard for people to understand or empathize with guys that large which is also why they generally don’t become as marketable as players who are smaller. The only real remedy is for him to get in the best shape of his life and go win the title. If he does we will never hear about his leadership again no matter what happens after that. H
