Watched Shamshera for 20 minutes and left the cinema hall. Fortunately, my girlfriend was with me. The concept and idea was rife with potential but it was met with an inane and ludicrous script under the garb of being a mass entertainer. Ranbir and Sanjay have acted well but good actors cannot truly elevate such a shoddy screenplay and terrible writing (Sanjay lend a great degree of conviction to some poorly penned dialogues). The VFX is not bad although some sequences are friggin' hilarious. The story simply does not connect and there is no character development whatsoever.

@@jammy_deep 20 minutes is enough to realize that the movie has a completely brain dead plot. Had they paid more attention to the story and character development instead of pouring all that money into the VFX. Both of us chortled when that horse appeared out of nowhere, where item numbers and mujras happen in a dilapidated prison that is supposedly a hell hole, and when the dialogue is in poetry. I believe that these were the high points of the movie. Only a fight club esque twist in the end could have saved it.
