SubanAllah. Allah is great! I came here by chance. I was not getting the answer I wanted and by chance I got it here with no inclination that this would answer my confusion caused moments ago after watching a talk from Musa Centrino. He said we shouldn’t call ourselves salaf and more Al Kitaab as per the Quran because not all the salaf were rightly guided and even some where shia deviants etc. So it caused me confusion and now I saw this, which has made it a lot clearer Alhamdulilah. For the record I could have misquoted, but the narrative is still the same

lol , salaf means sahaba which are all guided and praised in the quran and the one who follow them like allah said in the Quran :' nd the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct' also the salaf ,sunni , jama'a all come in narrations like Muhammad said, I heard Alī bin Shaqīq saying, I heard Abd Allah bin al-Mubārak saying in front of the people: ‘Abandon the Ḥadīth of Amr bin Thābit for indeed he would curse the Salaf [i.e., the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them]’. Shaykh Ul-Islam Muhammed ibn Abdul-Wahab mentioned in his Book Kashf ash-Shubuhaat that 1 laymen of Ahlu Sunnah defeats 1000 people of the Ulama of the Mushrikuun. Once a Laymen came from Najd to Madina and he saw some sufis worshipping the graves. Then he asked why you seek help from them when they are dead? Then the sufi shaykh brought up a Shubha and recited the ayah: وَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قُتِلُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ أَمۡوَٰتَۢاۚ بَلۡ أَحۡيَآءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ يُرۡزَقُونَ (Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali) Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision. -Sure Āl ʿImrān, Vers 169 Then the laymen said to him: they themselve get provision from their Lord they cant give you anything. So lets ask /make dua to the one (Allah) who provides for them and for us.

this is out of topic but i’m very desperate so i hope i can get answers. since one year i’ve been afflicted with ocd and also i suffer from insomnia. aside from that and that’s why i’m writing this, i have frequent bad dreams after fajr prayer mostly. i read all the protecting suwar, i read ayat al kursi, the last two ayat of surah baqarah make dua, istighfar etc. i play surah baqarah at home and i don’t listen to music. does anyone know an authentic ruqiyah i can do on myself? even though i’m trying my best to not listen to these whispers and i acknowledged that shaytan only knows on my door and if i respond then that’s my fault and that he has no power over me but i need to find peace only in my sleep. i’m a student and i cannot miss school always because i’ve not slept at night. please someone help me for the sake of Allah. may Allah bless you all and protect you from all evil and harm.

Why call yourself salifiyah ,, Allah does not refer to us as such . All Muslims should follow the way of the prophet (saw) .

Salafi refers to the sunnah of the prophet (saw) and the next 3 generations of the sahaba

The shia call themselves muslim, the sufis, the deobandis, everyone calls themselves muslim So we differentiate. You said 'all muslims should follow the way of the Prophet saw'....but they don't. So we are muslims yes but we must differentiate otherwise it is confusion.

i dont agree with shamsi on mufti menk , he has many lectures which call to worship Allah and not associate partners with Allah but you havent heard of it ,you have not spoken to him ,I love shamsi his my brother but i disagree with him on that,people do dawah in different ways,everyone is not going to be the same and everyone has a different strategy

@@yusufeditzzzz Jazaak Allah gayran. Now if you ask a shi'i, or sufi, or jahmi ashari, what do you follow? He will surely say quran and sunnah. So only saying quran+sunnah isn't informative for one seeking knowledge. Sincere dawah is all about precisely defining sunnah, and in detail warning against bid'a. Menk falls short here, he only broadly says "follow sunnah khalas". May Allah give him something better. That's why people like menk are callled silent devils. They conceal the truth so as not to lose any followers. Upon them is the curse of Allah, see alBaqarah 109. I ask Allah to grant us knowledge, wallahi without reading and implementing the books of the salaf (Imam ahmad, al bukhari, ibn abu dawud, al barbahari, etc, etc) we are nowhere near complete Islam.
