Always remember. Vince McMahon did not create Stone Cold, The Rock or Triple H. He created The Ringmaster, Rocky Maivia and Hunter Hearst Helmsley. He had to be dragged into the Attitude Era based largely on what Shane is saying right here.

@ItsStillRealToMe DamnIt Trump has had a ton of business ventures that succeeded, most new companies (around 80%) fail within the first year, so under your logic, a NFL team that doesn't win the super bowl every year is a failure. And if you think the current "geriatric puppet" in charge right now, who is a career politician (and not a good one if you look at what he has achieved in his 50 years in office) is superior, you calling that other guy a partisan dope is laughable and hypocritical.

No wonder attitude era was the best.. Vince McMahon wasn't inputting like a egomaniac anymore cause he was desperate to win. So he literally let Russo and Farrera do what they wanted creatively, and literally changed WWE almost overnight and became a multi million company in 4 short years. Then after WWE buys out ecw and wcw, then here comes Vince McMahon AGAIN and using his company as a ego trip, ruining wrestling.

I went to the University of Kentucky in the 1980's, and Joe B. Hall did the same with his players. He won a championship, as Vince has made money, but he also ruined players because the had to be played "the UK way", and players with great skills that didn't match Joe B.'s style had their skills suppressed. Just down the road in Louisville, Denny Crumb recruited players based on their strengths, watched them play, and said, "How do we make a winning team with these guys?" And Crumb won a national championship, too. The boss has to at least consider his employees' ideas if they're the ones who have to carry them out.

You clearly don't know what a Yes Man is. Shane was pitching his own ideas about getting himself over and they were TERRIBLE because he's a 50+ year old part timer wrestler (at best) who many fans don't buy as a top talent. If Vince was pitching bad ideas and Shane was saying no we should try it this way then your comment would make some sense but Shane was only really concerned with himself there and it showed.

I know people call Bruce Prichard a yes man but I was at a live show with Pat Patterson and Patterson would back up the claims that him, Bruce and others would tell Vince when something sucked but they also knew Vince well enough to know when you can or can't change his mind so in cases where he has his mind made up they don't even waste their breath which is what probably happened here. One story they both told is about how they felt in 94 that Shawn Michaels should be a babyface, Vince shot it down, they tried it multiple times after and Vince said "Damnit that little runt will never be a babyface in this company so don't bring it up again!!" so they dropped it. Then come WMXI and Shawn is getting cheered by the fans in his match with Diesel, the next day Vince picks up Pat and Bruce to go to TV and says "We got ourselves a babyface on our hands!" and they were like "huh?" and he's like "Shawn Michaels, he's our next top babyface, the fans want to cheer him, I just don't understand why I'm the only one to see this!" It's stuff like that which made people into "yes men" they realized when Vince has hid mind made up you can't get through to him.

I think though that there is a problem across the boards that was also true when TNA was in the position of being a challenger and is true of AEW in that they want to give everything out for free most nights and not build toward something. Hulk vs. Warrior was special, not only because we didn't see these guys wrestle each other but also that they were incredibly selective of when we saw either of those guys work for free against anybody that was not a job guy. Even if you look at the mid-90's, we never got Bret vs. Shawn as a World Championship match on a free RAW. They knew that was there one they are going to hold for the big payoff. I just saw that AEW gave the very first match between CM Punk and MJF, that they had been building up for some time, for free. What's left as a follow-up now? This has kind of been the problem with every company across the board.

That's why they are few genuine stars nowadays. Vince thinks he made all those stars from what he did, so he thinks every idea he has is the best. And especially now with much less competition, he can afford to ignore the ideas of the talent. Remember that time he ignored Austin, then Austin didn't show up for work for weeks. And that was after WCW was already closed. He couldn't try that in the late 90s. But now, he can't just run the show however he wants because he knows he's the only show in town. And he won the war of the territories by forcing the WWF product down everyone throat nationally. If it was based on raw booking, he would not have been as successful. I could see why him and Trump got along so well.

The number of hours Shane has spent in shoot interviews talking about his 1995 WWF run exceeds the number of hours that Douglas actually appeared on WWF TV in 1995....

I'm sick of hearing this guy blame everyone else for his failure in the BIG TIME...so far Vince, Pat Paterson, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac, Nash, JR and the Undertaker are all the reasons why he never succeeded in WWF...every shoot I've seen he never takes responsibility for himself
