Shane is spot on it's not about boxing knowledge.Dads and sons are too emotional connected to always be the best match in a corner.Obviously some have been great in the corner for their sons, but its similar to how if you had two surgeons equally qualified but one is your father , you are better off with the one that is not, because the emotions can get in the way of critical decision making.Its also a fact that more boxers die when their father is in the corner , because they will fight on with greater punishment subconsciously when dad is in the corner.There is statistical evidence showing boxers trained by their fathers who are in their corner have suffered much greater punishment.
