Of all the DOOL 80s couples, Kim and Shane were my favorite. Even more so than Bo and Hope, if ever so slightly. Lol. But they just were never destined to be together. I think in the end they broke up for good if I'm remembering correclty. I know they came back years later and reconciled but by thenI was no longer watching and I think it was just for a few episodes. Their angst was the best but drove me crazy.

This was really romantic, but at the same time older DOOL pairings follows a tradition of that the woman doesn't really get a say in her own wedding because the man fixed it all without even consulting it once with her. Yes, I get that this is a surprise. And yes, it was sweet. I just find it jarring that Shane magically fixed everything IN ONE DAY. What if she had said no? Or, said yes, but wants to plan ahead with him? I prefer the modern DOOL(Bo/Hope, Shawn/Belle, Brady/Chloe etc) since they balance out the roles a bit more and tosses away the bad traits of romance. Just an opinion.
